Backgammon for iPad & iPhone Reviews

Dice Rolls are fixed!

ghhytcvjiitrcnk on

Canada

This game promotes hitting your opponent when they are vulnerable and sending them back. Almost every time, the dice roll is fixed so this happens. Dice rolls should not be pre-determined!

Slanted towards computer

Canuck-22 on

Canada

Computer will always get what they need to hit you & rolls abundantly more doubles than you ever will. Frustrating! You rarely get what you need to hit. One space open to come off Center - computer will roll that. 3 spaces open for you takes multiple rolls to get giving computer lots of time to block. Love the challenge but not when after multiple games the slant is so obvious!!

Used to be good but now awful

Eric in Ottawa July 2024 on

Canada

As of a few days ago all roles are duplicated for 2 player game. Meaning if the first person rolls 5, 2 the opponent then rolls 5,2. And that just goes on the whole game. Also, I paid for no adds but adds have started popping up again. Don’t buy.

Loud ads

WICKEDWANDA1 on

Canada

Listen this used to be a cool app, but the ads play forever. Too much competition, I repeatedly requested developers to respect our time, obnoxiously placed during a game gets players frustrated.

Very Good App,,,, paid version is worth it!

Katzma on

Canada

I’ve had a few issues with this App and the ads freezing. I decided to pay to have ads removed and I’m glad I did. It’s wonderful to just be able to open the App and Play without having to wait for ads to run. I’ve contacted customer service a couple of times and the response is quick and effective. This App is now one of the best there is to play backgammon.

Rigged

Littlesaintina on

Canada

It’s so frustrating to play games rigged against you. The amount of times the house gets doubles or the exact roll needed is outrageous. At least this version doesn’t have ads popping up during the game, only between rounds.

OK, but ...

mrmxazzeRe566 on

Canada

The Hard setting is really easy, and there are many times when the game will not allow you to move even though the move is available. Overall, kinda' fun. ADDENDUM: The Samsung ad just hung up the game. Time to delete😔

Deal spotter

yrtoyr on

Canada

When the deal spotter ad comes up you cannot remove the ad on iPad

Frustrating

Cvquiet1 on

Canada

Great graphics and play options, but too many unbelievable dice rolls for the game’s RNG not to be AFU :)

Problem with ads

Play gammon on

Canada

Love this game, but there is a new problem with the ads. This is especially frustrating when in a tournament. Some of the ads are too large for the iPad screen and you cannot close them out. Hence, you have shut down the app thereby resigning from the tournament.
