Beeline Bike Navigation Reviews

fun way to plan new routes

great on it’s on to plan new routes. works even better when paired with the device!

Cell phone is the week link!

midnite4sound on

United States

This is a wonderful app 75 percent of the time. A watch app would help with usability across situational riding. The cell phone is of course the week link here. You are forced to Cary a satellite gps in addition because of lack of cell service in many areas. The dream would be of course the unit’s ability to connect to a satellite gps for better overall reliability. Overall this is a great product for bike’s and motorcycles.

Simply the best

I just wanted turn by turn navigation. Import from and upload to strava. And this is the only device that does that perfectly for an unbeatable price. And it does more. It’s super light, easy to mount and dismount and incredibly light. It even auto changes brightness. The beeps are perfectly audible when to make a turn.

Must have for all motorcycle adventurists

Ron Jacobs on

The Beeline MOTO and the Beeline Route Planner App are fabulous and a must have for all motorcycle adventurists. The Compass, Fast and Fun Route are great options for choosing your routes. I recently used Beeline MOTO on a 7 day motorcycle sidecar adventure through Oregon - mostly using the Fun Route mode. Beeline MOTO navigated me with so much ease and great accuracy along the Oregon coast, along the Columbia River Gorge, through the Mount Hood National Forest and finally some Wine Country. Thank you Beeline for these great products as well as an amazing support service.

Minimalist navigation at its best

I’ll admit it took me some getting used too and I’ve not tried it on a long trip yet. But I ride my motorcycle about 60 miles a day and don’t want my phone on my handle bar mount. Love the auto night mode.

Beeline Velo 2 power in its simplicity

Greggsr71 on

I purchased the Beeline Velo 2 for a 14-day cycling trip between London and Edinburgh. In the past, I would plan the route in Komoot and use my iPhone to navigate. This time, I decided to try Velo 2 for its simplicity and to avoid having my expensive iPhone attached to the handlebar and taking the daily abuse. I was THRILLED that I gave Velo 2 a try! Full disclosure, I did NOT use the Beeline app to create the daily routes. I am really comfortable using Komoot to plan my routes, though I could have easily done the same in the Beeline app. Once I created 14 daily routes, importing them into the Beeline was a snap. Each days’ ride showed up in the "Ride" tab, so it was just matter of selecting the day’s route and heading out. I put my iPhone in airplane mode to save battery life and off I went. My riding buddy also had the routes and used his Wahoo to navigate. 99% of the time we were in agreement when to turn (and there were a million turns each day), and I would say Velo 2 was more likely to be correct. Each day we rode down a combination of paved, hard packed gravel rails-to-trails, and even a few spots along the eastern coast that could be called walking paths. For me, the Velo 2 simple display is pure genius. It gives you just enough information to easily anticipate turns, and an audio cue that is nearly perfect. My only tiny complaint was I am getting hard of hearing and wish the audio turn que was a bit louder - but it’s perfectly fine for most riders. Originally, I thought the audio que was coming from my iPhone but only realized that wasn't the case when I let my buddy try out the unit on his bike and realized the sound actually came from within the Velo 2. As you can guess, it rains a lot in the UK, so the Velo 2's water resistance was tested for many hours. I never had a problem. Not quite sure if it is in fact waterproof, so I don't suggest you forget to take it out of your jersey and run it through the washer - which I almost did! The claimed battery life of 11+ hours seems correct. We rode most days from 8:00 to 16:00and the Velo had more than 50% battery life left. I charged it each night, so I never actually ran it until it died to find out the true battery life, but from my experience, 11+ hours seem reasonable. In summary, I LOVE the Velo 2 and will continue to use it as my cycling computer. Some reviewers had less than perfect experiences with their Velo 2, but my 14-day, 8+ hour per day, rainy, sometimes bone jarring ride, has

I like it!

This is a good app for motorcyclists. It’s great being able to go from A to B and decide whether you want to take a fast or fun route. It’s easy to make your own rides and plot points on the route. Other apps do this, but they require subscriptions. The actual navigation itself is pretty simple which is good. Only done a couple of rides so far, but i like the simplicity. Using my phone at the minute, but if this continues to be a good way of navigating, I may buy the actual beeline unit. I need to test it a little more on routes where I don’t actually know where im going to see how it performs before I commit. Either way thoigh, this is now my favourite nav app for my motorcycle.

Bu-bye, Garmin!

JVincentL on

I was honestly skeptical at first when I saw the Beeline Moto flooding my social feed. After 2+ hours fighting with wonky Garmin apps and processes to plan a specific route on my 396, I took to Amazon and was happy to see the Beeline Moto was available for next day delivery. So a bought it! The cool thing is that, while I was waiting for the device to arrive I was able to open this app and start planning my route, which was a three hour back roads ride to get my new motorcycle’s first service complete. Without even a test run, the route was nearly flawless, and the only challenge I had was with an impassible access road, but that was a google map data issue and no fault of this app. I passed by the wonky road and the app quickly rerouted me toward my next waypoint. I have to say this setup is nearly perfect. For my needs anyway. I love how the app makes it so simple to plan a route and ride. All the work is done by the app and the phone’s processing, and the Moto device is merely a display…and an excellent one at that. Direct sunlight readable (unlike my phone and even my Garmin), and minimalist nav guidance that is viewable even without my prescription glasses. I am a huge fan now and I’ll promptly be selling my Garmin 396. Beeline is the future of motorcycle navigation, and, happily, it’s here now!

Great for navigating with Beeline Moto

Totally recommend the app together with the little device to navigate. Already used on my trip to CA 236 and it worked flawlessly even in spots with bad internet reception.

Needs audio + street names

theguy_02 on

United States

Much better routing than most apps of its class, but I'm a city biker, so the lack of spoken navigation and street names while on a route are really disappointing. I'm having to look at my phone and take my eyes off the road wayyyyy more than I feel safe doing.
