Every time I try to scan the qr code, the screen loaded and loaded and nothing happens. Absolutely horrible
Generally the app is better than the old one which was very slow especially when panning around the map. However, since using this version I have found that the availability of bikes and docks are completely unreliable. This is a particular problem with docks which consistently show as having some availability — sometimes as many as 3-4 — when they are actually all full. So you have to cycle to another that shows as having availability… but then that is full too. Restarting the app doesn’t refresh data or anything like that either. The whole network would also benefit from a feature for reporting broken docks.
I've been using the Bike Share Toronto app for over two years, and it's been a consistently frustrating experience. The app has serious performance issues, with constant delays in updating data. You'll often find yourself waiting to see the latest availability of bikes and docks. Even more frustrating is that the app frequently shows bikes available at a dock, only for you to arrive and find none there. This is incredibly inconvenient, especially during peak hours or when you're in a hurry. The user interface is not user-friendly at all. The app is slow, making it a pain to navigate through the different screens. There's also no tutorial or guidance provided for new users, making the initial setup and usage confusing. On top of all this, despite paying for an annual membership, you still have to pay extra for e-bikes. This feels like a cash grab and diminishes the value of the membership. Overall, the Bike Share Toronto app needs significant improvements to become a reliable and user-friendly service.
I set up an email specifically for this app, and I’ve already begun receiving spam. Mainly “your Amazon order failed click here to update your payment information” from a non-Amazon email. It’s clearly a phishing scam, I can’t believe this apps security is so lax that the emails are already being spammed. Warning, DO NOT USE YOUR PERSONAL EMAIL FOR THIS APP.
Sucks haha stay away!
Since a couple of weeks, there is no possibility to return your bike. There is a 5km radius at Mimico Beach with full only bike stations. This is very annoying, doesnt make sense to use the app anymore
since the tangerine purchase it’s all gone downhill FAST at every station: - 10% of the docks simply don’t function - there’s either no bikes or no spaces. the incredibly illogical changes that have been made to docking locations has completely screwed up the natural flow for users bikes are sent out in poor condition, rickety, ripped up, brakes malfunctioning, worn out tires. what used to be a convenient well priced service has turned into a massive waste of time and money - except for Tangerine who must be PRINTING cash using this whole system as a method of free advertising all over the city do the right thing and sell this service to a company that will actually deliver a service torontonians deserve
was cool until I tried to drop it off and the bike share stop was broken forcing me to ride 10 minutes away and then walk back another 30 all while continuing to charge me. Never use this if there is only 1 spot where you plan to drop the bike off because odds are that spot is only there because it’s broken.. terrible experience
Massively better. I can now unlock as fast as Lime/Bird in other cities. But I want to be able to switch memberships in the app instead of website, so I can get a day pass for 2 people. Also, if you close app on iOS, ride, and reopen, it loses GPS location and does not show the "go to GPS location" arrow button that normally shows (minor bug, it reappears if I pan the map slightly)
