Great and can be even better
For some, the gamification and postcards are probably great, but for real bird enthusiasts it is just messy. I suggest two modes, one that’s clean tech and requires very few clicks and one that can be much the opposite.

I love the BirdBuddy, but I can’t keep up with the notifications and postcards. I have lots of visits per day, always from the same three birds, and while it’s nice to see them the constant messaging is starting to make the postcards a tedious chore instead of fun. I know I can shut notifications off, but ideally I’d like these changes: (1) An option to only get notifications for new birds and mystery birds, and a summary of visits from known birds every day. (2) A function to mark all postcards as read, possibly also with a summary the birds that visited. (3) Reduce or eliminate the animation on postcards where the subject is a bird that has already visited your feeder.
It’s so densely that one has to open every card. It would be so much nicer with a galery at ones and pick the pictures from there to save and watch films. Apart from that I love my Birdbuddy
I got surprised about how accurat the app is to identify the birds. Since I live in Sweden it is fun to learn the English names of the birds in our garden. I also enjoy the postcards I get while I am at work. All good fun! If something should be bettet is how to fill up the Birdbuddy with seeds. It is quite a challenge as it is today, but instead I fill upp a small amount of seeds everyday from the front.
Tried to get it going but Bluetooth connection never started. Tried factory reset, still dead.
Unless you are new to Bird Buddy and saving everything no matter what, the most commonly used button for more seasoned Bird Buddy users (that are more selective with what is actually worth saving) is the discard button. This latest update buries that button in a Multi-Option menu. What used to be a simple single click is now multi-click. What I don’t understand is why “share” stays on as a single click when I don’t think I’ve ever used it but once or twice in the past 1.5 years to share a clip with my a family member. If you have to bury something, bury share and give us back a single click discard please. Even if you don’t bury the share button, there’s still plenty of screen real estate to put a single click discard back where it is supposed to be. Heck, even just putting a red trash can icon on the screen will do the trick. I really don’t understand what the devs were thinking by burying the most used button, but I’m hopeful they’ll correct this mistake. Under Frenzy mode in my Pro account, I probably discard 25 to 30 sessions a day and save something from maybe 1 to 3 sessions a day. Easy to use discard is a must. If not for this mistake, this is easily a 5 star app.
I found this years ago on a Kickstarter. It has turned out to be an amazing investment. The camera in the feeder is wonderful. I get fantastic pictures and sound. What a great way to watch your winged visitors.
Watching a community of birds is a great thing —- just wish I could deter the squirrels!
Updated to 3.0.4 today and cannot save photos on my iPhone. Now it takes multiple clicks to remove a visitor. What was a good functioning app is now an abomination. Please revert to the previous version now!!!
I loved my Bird Buddy when I first got it but then they added “premium” features and seemingly made the free stuff not work as great. For example, I sometimes don’t get notified of birds until 3 days after they visited; it also seems to miss a lot of them now too.
