Great first day !!

Hardware is amazing, app is brutal

Musicartgeek on

The bird buddy works extremely well - but the app UX has a terminal case of cutesyness, and is almost impenetrable. I just want to save photos and videos, and share them. I don’t know what a “private collection” is, I don’t know what “postcards” are. Arrgggh

It shows me birds

What more could someone want? Only complaint is that maybe a wider FOV would help, sometimes they hide from the camera

Wish we could block some birds (grackle) as they are always on feeder

Bird Buddy is a beauty

So great to know what the bird is that’s visiting now. Awesome!

The best!

Great app that is simplistic to use and incredibly fun for anyone of any age. The unit itself is great quality, super sturdy and nicely made. Highly recommend for bird or backyard enthusiasts! :)

The pictures and video are crystal clear….when it decides to work! We have two bird buddies in our yard and neither one of them work consistently. We will get the odd picture or video once every few months, and they are both regularly updated. It is frustrating to watch many birds land in and on and around the bird buddies for long lengths of time and not get any postcards. Not sure if it’s the app or the bird buddies but only 3 stars for when it does decide to work.

Up close and personal

One of our favourite birds, the house finch was our very first visitor!

Good concept but not quite there

weedmeister on

Got my BB as gift. Like the idea but not working well for me. First, the squirrels are devouring my feed. Knew this might be issue but the app makes it even more annoying. I get notifications every 2 mins of another sighting of the same thing. More squirrel. Each one requires many clicks to review and clear. If I ever got a real bird, would never know as it’s mixed with dozens of squirrel sightings. The app should be able to know I don’t care about squirrels anymore and ignore.

Fun but needs the option to delete photos before identification

Monica Fitz on

I love my BirdBuddy and enjoy the photos very much. That being said, it’s too lengthy a process to click on individual postcards and identify the birds before deleting the ones that didn’t turn out. I would really like the option to see the entire list and swipe to delete, then ID the ones that are left. As cute as the postcard concept is, I find I don’t have time to click on each one individually. Please give us the option to bypass this and go directly to the photos.
