Blink Shell 14: Legacy

It’s the best terminal for iOS. I simply love Blink’s design philosophy of getting of the way. It has all the features you need on a day to day basis. In the beginning I felt the learning curve was a bit steep, but once you know it’s very intuitive.

Support for SSH, Mosh, I believe this is the best terminal app on the go! I wish it had more development tools, as well as vi/vim! Other apps (like a-shell) have it but they are lacking features and those are way behind! this app has a lot to offer and it is 100% worth buying!

I have been a UNIX admin for almost 30 years, starting out with amber RS232 terminals, through Linux and Windows desktops, onto OSX and iOS. "blink" is the absolute best terminal I've ever used, and there have been many, across many platforms. The only annoying thing is the lack of an Esc key on the iPad Pro keyboard, but that's hardly blink's fault. Fortunately, blink allows you to map the Esc key to Caps Lock. That works fine. I love that it supports "mosh" so that the iPad is always seamlessly connected to the same sessions, no matter how many WiFis and 4G connections I connect to along the way. Thank you!

I use Blink mainly for the mosh-capability which is excellent. One of the things I do on remote servers is use vim where I need the escape key often. On the desktop, I have mapped capslock to escape and I just *love* that blink enables me to do the same.

Blink was already super useful but the last update takes it to a whole new level. Bravo! One request is that auto completion would work better on files/dirs with spaces in them. They show up as autocomplete choices but because they aren’t quoted you need fix this every time.
