BlitzortungLive is an Application for monitoring Lightning-Strikes at nearly realtime.
BlitzortungLive can be used for watching and monitoring Thunderstorms. The Lightning-Strikes are displayed nearly in realtime on the Map.
Features:
- Live display of Lightning-Strikes
- older Strikes are displayed as colored dots on the Map
- Push Alarm if Lightning-Strikes are detected in a customizable area.
- Language support for English, German, French, Spain and Russian
The App Blitzortung-Live is an additional service to the main project Blitzortung.org (http://www.blitzortung.org).

Perfect App
This is a perfect app for thunder and lighting
The original.
The best.
Takes a long time to start
After latest iOS update the app seems to have trouble starting up; it takes a long time to show the map. Maybe issues with connecting to the server? Update: Now after starting up the app, after a while it crashes / shuts down ...

Works perfect around the world
Fijne applicatie
De applicatie is snel en geeft een mooi overzicht over de inslagen in de buurt. Ook via de wereldkaart is een andere plek te zien. Een wens is nog om de advertenties onderaan weg te krijgen en daar heb ik wel wat voor over. Mooi zou ook een voorspelling zijn van tot een dag vooruit. Er blijft wat te wensen over, maar zeker een nuttige app.
Vroeger beter
In het begin was er altijd bijna realtime te zien waar het bliksemde. Nu loopt de app hopeloos achter op de realiteit en update soms ook niet meer tijdens onweer.
5G detectors?
Tot nu toe zijn er alleen vaste locatie bliksemdetectors. Wanneer komt er een mobiele versie?
Werkt perfect.
Als er onweer wordt voorspeld zet ik deze aan. Grappig detail: als het vlakbij is hoor je het alarm-geluid van Star Trek (overigens als bliksem té dichtbij komt, dan vind ik dat weer minder leuk, maar daar kan deze app niets aan doen 😉). Het is een perfect werkende app, met waarschuwingen voor het gebied waarvan je zelf de grootte kunt instellen. Ik ben er blij mee.
