overall a decent app, the only personal grudge i have is the blaring lack of engagement and overall lack of user base the app possesses.
This is much better than instagram. I had had so many problems with instagram. They kept on deleting me time and time again as I was trying to improve and have fun. The total accounts they took away from me was 7, whole I was suspended 11 Times. This app is new, and deserves new features that are useful for its incoming future. I hope that more and more artists move to this app so it can grow to be more successful. Thank you for making a nice art app, and I wish you luck for your future. -Tank 105 (A.K.A. Reece Bass)
I really enjoy this app so much. You get to meet artists and creators in the platform. It help with small businesses as a artist. It protects your art from AI and you have right to protect your art. As a artist myself it nice to see other artists their to grow. You get to see people do comic, story, art, design, 3D, 2D and many more that can be enjoyable. I recommend joining in
I made an account back in Jun, and then I spend a couple of months inactive and my account was log out of the app. I didn’t bother to log in at that moment. Now I tried and looks like that account don’t exists anymore. And ehh what about all my files and art & followers I had? Well, looks like it is all gone, so why should I bother in making an account again if I could list all efforts just like that?
I love Cara, but there can be some creepy predators on it, and reporting and moderators need to be better. I was contacted on the app by a creepy man trying to get in touch with me, asking to be friends. Of course, like any reasonable person would do, I reported it. No action was taken by the moderators. As it turns out, he had been a predator and was grooming young users. I took screen shots of people conversations with him for him to finally be banned. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!! People on this app must be protected. We need better moderating tools. PLEASE FIX THIS!!
This app is great for the arts that are starting up to pros that inspire more artists to create original art work or even fan art. Only wish this app had the function to send videos that I animated. That's the only flaw I see in the app. Lack of a way to send video like the photos on the gallery function.
The whole anti AI thing is good and I like the app so far. I know it is kind of new, but I hope this app could add some features: like archiving posts, turning off comments, and hiding like counts. I'd be great if we had the option to do that.
I’m a simple person with simple needs. Give me a platform that allows me to share art without worries of AI stealing my and everyone else’s work. I haven’t ran into much issues with the site when it comes to uploading art, socializing with users, and just genuinely vibing with an art crowd. If you’re used to tumblr, Pillowfort, etc., that is totally fair and maybe Cara wouldn’t be a fit for you. But~ I can at least promise you that if you’re the kind of person who likes to look at art and socialize, this could be a platform worth trying. couple things…. 1) It doesn’t allow NSFW work, and for good reason: It costs resources and Cara isn’t at that level yet. However, they’re not completely dismissing the potential. That said, they have a great sensitivity filter that you can use for your pieces (both portfolio and thumbnail view, which you’ll have to edit separately upon initial upload). They allow artistic renditions of violence, gore, and sensitive material (e.g. artistic nudity). Just be smart about it. 2) It’s free to sign up and use. There are no differences between a community profile versus a professional profile, except for a professional profile being able to verify another professional. They do not pressure donations, and allow people to use their platform as freely as possible. If you feel inclined or have the funds, consider hitting the donate button once in awhile to help offset the tremendous costs that Cara incurred for the founder and team. Lastly: It’s not able to handle videos (yet!), but it can sure handle gifs and links for whatever you want to share. Either way, have fun :)
I love this app. It has bugs, but yea its beta so ofc it does! Artists need a genuine app like this, and I think this will progress to be an art central. One question though… is everyone’s screen like oddly placed? Ik it’s beta and it might be a glitch.. but my screen is tiny and I can’t view anything whole without having to scroll from top to bottom. It’s like the app is only working for phone screens? I have an iPad. I dunno- I just don’t know if anyone else’s does that. It’s been that way since I downloaded it. Maybe help me out and lmk if I’m the only one? @kaltz on Cara ^^
