Description

We love index cards. We use them a lot.
They are a versatile and surprisingly powerful tool for all kinds of tasks. From brainstorming to storyboards, to planning entire projects, they have a place in your workflow.
Cardflow captures the ease and flexibility of paper index cards and brings that experience to the iPad.
Rather than impose a rigid structure up front, Cardflow allows you to lay things out however you like, and organize them in the way that makes sense to you.
Jot down ideas or sketch diagrams on cards and arrange them on a large board. Write and draw using the buttery smooth Inkflow vector ink system, or type in a variety of fonts. You can even snap photos of actual cards to use as a background.
Turbocharge your workflow today! Whether you are drafting story boards for a movie, laying out the plot and characters for your novel, or learning a new language, Cardflow has a place in your toolbox. Have all the fun of using index cards, without the forest-pulping guilt of paper.

The perfect note card app

RobRawks on

United States

Index cards are, in my opinion, the perfect note system for people. They are what I would consider RAM. Index cards hold bits of information that we gathered throughout the day. Index cards allow us to sort and we can arrange this data on a daily basis. The issue with most note taking apps lack the ability to quickly sort and rearrange notes. This app fixes it. It perfectly simulates having index cards. I love that allows the user to link cards together. And also organizes them with a few gestures. This is a wonderful addition to my work flow.

Still Around

My first computer was an 80286 running MS DOS. My favorite program was called Card File. It was very similar to this one. This has everything needed to keep tabs on everything in your personal life.

Great product but speech to text does not work

Love the product, but when doing storyboarding, I use speech to text exclusively, but does not work on your product.

Best of the bunch

I’ve tried most of the note taking apps. For me, most are too bloated with extras that get in the way. This feels just right. This app is perfect for me. I don’t draw much but the board layout, index cards and text notes are fantastic!

Crashes way too often to cost this much

I like this app because there really isn’t another handwritten online flash card app and i prefer to have everything online. However, it crashes pretty often, at least 3 times every time I use it. It usually only deletes a few things but it’s annoying to have to redo it for an app I paid $15 for.

Great Resource - Crashes A lot

I love this app. My only complaint is that it crashes frequently and whenever it crashes it does not save what I just wrote.

Absolutely No Customer Support

Interesting App but God help you if you have a problem. A giant Cardflow+ file I had been working on for weeks got corrupted. When I look at the file, I can see the data is all there, 170 cards, but I can’t view them. 10 minutes of support would probably solve the whole problem, but there isn’t any. Not even a user’s group where one might find a solution to a problem. Ergo, I will take 2 weeks reconstructing and re-doing the work. I can’t ever trust this app again, let alone pay an ongoing monthly subscription fee. Pity, because, while the app is far from perfect, it is unique and an interesting way to work. But I I’m done. If you can take my money every month, you can answer a question or two when your app fails and destroys my work. BTW, the app hasn’t been updated in 4 years!!!

Amazing app closest thing to a real index card and whiteboard you’ll find

Agent619 on

This app is amazing. It uses drag and drop to the fullest. Has many boards. Custom names and tags. Little tapes that connect index cards simply by tapping holding and dragging to another card. The tape is my favorite feature. Supports many templates. You can change the color of cards, draw or text on them. You can draw on the board itself. Another amazing feature is the ability to herd your cards together. On the lower left you can pick a formation and it’ll auto sort the cards you have selected into that formation similar to how a band changes formations. Also has smooth flip by two finger pressing. You can change the behavior of when cards flip. You can use this to create agile boards for scrum project managing. You can create character connections for stories or games. It’s awesome for school notes. It runs really smooth and feels like a digital table. All I need now is digital scissors to cut the cards into shapes and it’s game over! Lol. Such an amazing app I can’t compliment it enough. Had to get the pro version because it’s literally that good. I use it on a 6th gen ipad and love it.

Excellent

This app has helped me study for my PALS test. I am trying to use it to improve my sign language skills. Unfortunately when I click on a card it is solid black. Please help me correct this issue. Thank you.

Amazing, some missing features.

This app does a lot of things really well, I highly recommend it. I would, however, like to see the ability to merge two boards together. I use the app primarily for learning vocabulary words, so having the ability to combine a bunch of chapters’ worth of words into a big board and go through them that way would be great! *** I have found a bug, and it’s quite annoying*** When I click on a card there should be an arrow to the side to quickly advance to the next card in the board. This arrow is present when a card is first clicked on, however it disappears when I advance one card over or when the card is flipped. It doesn’t disappear if I have my iPad oriented in landscape but it does in portrait. This makes it extremely cumbersome to review the cards quickly as I have to zoom out just a bit, which seems to reset the card somehow and bring back the arrow. This bug isn’t present on the free version of the app so it’s frustrating that it is in the paid version.
