This app made me quit stargazing. It’s so frustrating, wifi disconnects, and it simply won’t align. The ux is terrible and it should be this hard to use.

This app drops out more than it works!!!

Please celestron, spend some money and upgrade this app! iPhone 10+ support, a more modern design, and latest SkySafari data. It’s a great app, but needs some love if you still want to sell SkyPortal wifi adaptors!

The app disconnect the whole time and you lose your alignment.

I keep seeing people write in reviews that "WIFI constantly drops out", it doesn’t if you have "auto join network" off on your device. When on it keeps searching for a network and most likely connects again to your home network. Turning off "auto join" will keep your device connected until you switch it off.

Doesn’t matter how many times I try the connection constantly drops out in direct mode and I can not use the app at all. I get like 10 seconds to move the scope and then it drops and then won’t reconnect. I have the latest iOS, latest app update. I work with gadgets for a living so know my way around them, this is useless. Imagine buying a $3.5k telescope you can’t use. So frustrating beyond imagining.

Does not align properly while using skyportal ...Telescope moved to opposite direction (sometimes 45 degrees apart) from the object! Ugly interface! Never use it again! I am using PWCI on PC remote and very Much accurate ...hand controller is also good!

I am fortunate enough that I am still under warranty and may return my celestron telescope so I no longer have to use this terrible terrible app. It is frustrating to control, I have to align every time you turn it on, which requires pressing the left, right, up or down on screen buttons so that a bright star is in view, then aligning it into the center of lense, however this became literally impossible one night after trying for 20 minutes to align. The connection would cut out, the buttons were unresponsive, when I thought I had finally aligned the star the buttons would be ghost-pressed so the telescope spun completely out of alignment. I tried pressing shortly, waiting, so much waiting for the delay.. Every time you minimise the app, you will need to reallign. You can’t track the planets that move quickly without alignment. I am beyond angry and this $1000 telescope is ruined by a terrible horrible painful app!!!!!! 0 stars!!!
