Amazing app with outstanding feature on learning the Neck
I have used this app for years along with his companion app for lead guitar work “Scale Bank”. Not only is it kept updated, continually improved and resourceful for anyone who wants to advance on the guitar. It employs in both app the CAGED approach.
I played in a band for 14 years, studied under a jazz guitarist who introduced me to CAGED years ago. To have this app employing this approach gives true understanding of the entire guitar neck. It liberate your improvisation abilities. I talked with the app creator a couple years ago and was impressed with the passion behind the design. So, don’t walk, run and buy both. You will be glad you did.
Paid for this app in full and now there’s a monthly subscription?
What’s the deal? I paid for this app years ago. I go to use it today and it’s giving me a “Try it free for 7 days” message and I can’t access the program I PAID FOR! This can’t be legal!
GLITCHES!😤😤😤
This one time I got a notification from ChordBank and it taught me how to use the strings but there was also this video I cold watch to get better at it. But then it glitched and lagged then took me to Safari an app on my phone and made me browse guitars EVERY single time I tried to watch the video. THEN, later on,I tried it again and it finally worked but I couldn’t figure it out because it was also the first time I ever got to do it AND it sent me notification so I could only ever do it when or if it sends me a notification. So for the people who want to get this game I would check the ratings and reviews. Just saying!

Great app but pay system is trash
Been using this app for YEARS and it’s been fantastic however there’s a subscription now so it’s all been ruined. There’s been no updates and this is a non interactive app. There’s no reason for a continuous subscription. Makes no sense at all. Charge one price and call it done. I’m going back to an old fashioned book for guitar chords. App culture has gotten insane.
Bad UX
The controls for moving up and down the fretboard are backward, creating a bad user experience. With the picture of the fretboard above the controls, the up should move up towards the nut, not down and away from it. Because of the bad UX I’ve had this app on my phone for several years and barely use it.

Very Helpful App
After playing guitar for over a decade, this app has added some much need tips and techniques to my tool box which helps me further my guitar playing abilities. I highly recommend it if you are looking to learn the basics for the first time or to master them. The lessons are helpful and the chords and scales are presented easily so you can quickly refer to them while practicing.
