Worked fine at first, now can’t even get through a comic without crashing. It’s an ordeal to open a single file. unless they come back to it and fix the issues this is a do not download.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD will not work You can’t add comic files to the app anymore.

Was a great app for years then all of a sudden a couple yrs ago can’t view any new comics. Everytime I download nothing shows up, not even any trace. Did the same steps as the hundreds id comics I already hab3. Completely unacceptable considering I paid for it awhile back

So, let’s start off with the fact that I love Chunky! It is definitely a 5-star app. It has iit all, you can load all of your comics onto it, it displays beautifully on an iPad. Everything you might want. I happily paid for the full version, and have been quite pleased with its function.

Solid, fast display of pages, elegant handling of two page spreads (just rotate to landscape), lots of ways to get your comics into the software, and impressive automatic grouping of series. For free, it’s an absolute steal.

Works well for local files, but smb feature is completely non functional and sftp feature does not support key based auth. Support link is broken.

Very good. Love the layout and easy to use. Just wish they had Yandex Disk as one their accounts to add for importing cbr files. Overall very happy with my purchase.

Support email through in-app communication is dead. App support on the App Store page doesn’t work. This appears to be abandonware. Don’t waste your money, move on to something that’s supported.

I compiled manga chapters using KCC into volumes and Calibre to convert to epub. Unfortunately when I put these volumes into kindle & Apple Books app, every other page was blank. This is the ONLY app that recognized there were no blank pages, reading manga on here is great. Panels didn’t even recognize my file. Can’t wait to try out the other features this app has to offer.

I’ve been reading comics as ebooks for a long time. Longer than iPads have existed to read them on. My oldest CBZ is from 2000. I feel so old now. But enough about that. I’ve been reading comics since the 80s, and ebook comics since 2000. I’ve read on PC, Mac, Android, and iOS and out of all that time, Chunky is my favorite way to read comics. The interface is responsive and smooth and feels right. The technology falls away and I am back to being a kid again, reading comics in bed, up way past my bedtime, thinking “Just one more issue” and dreading the yawns of tomorrow. The cloud options are great, and I completely love that in one touch I can turn on an internal web server and upload comics to my iPad. I don’t need to think about iTunes, or find a cable, or anything. This app is worth every penny.
