The only two things that you would expect the nutrition management app to do right is to be able to enter nutrition info without hustle and have a good database. First, every time you have to distinguish between the US and the EU label standard. The app somehow manages to deliver correctly localized ads in a free version but totally fails to remember or understand that I actually live in the EU and hence all the US imperial nonsense should be hidden from me. Second, entering the nutrition info for unknown foods is bluntly a challenge that requires skill, knowledge of the internals of the app and luck. A lot of luck. Did our app deduce strange serving size and you decided to change it? Let me recalculate ALL the numbers. Did you decide to switch to the EU labels? Let me enter something random. Did you type everything correctly eventually? Let me multiply everything by a 1000! And last but not least, food database is virtually empty. Pretty much everything I scan is not there. In combination with the two items above I do think that I should be paid for using the app. And hey, if you are as stupid as me and decided to pay for premium - remember - no refunds. Do not waste time and stick with MFP. Yea it is pricier but at least MFP works.
I have been using the app for 5 years now - with a Gold Subscription which allows to organize meals & food in groups and offers reports & charts I care about. I cook from scratch and my focus is not on calories or macros but on micronutrients. Therefore I do not miss many European brand products when searching the databank for entries but European brands are underrepresented so far. The data pool will further grow though. I find entering foods, meals, creating recipes very quick and easy and you will get better over time to search with best key words. I use the app almost exclusively on my iphone. I use the app every (!) day and have faced a glitch / not loading data only twice in 5 years, it seems very stable. I can not speak to the process or accurateness when importing data from other devices as I do not use them. The free version might be crowded by adds and I can not remember which features are open to you but for me the price for the annual subscription is fair. I will continue to use it.
Been using it daily for years. Useful to go back and check out what I did the last couple of weeks. That way, I find out how different foods and eating patterns affect me.
Really like the app. Very easy to use. One thing that could‘ve been done better is the product library. There aren’t many products that are recognizable via bar-code. Of course I can type the macros and stuff myself, but a bigger food-library would make a big difference especially for those who don’t have much time for typing it in themselves. Big Thanks for The Developer Team for this App!
New display darkmode is not good, there are people who are very sensitive to light and beight colors and its a no no for me and others, many of whom have chronic illness.
I use this app for Keto and love the flexibility and customisation of reports… BUT there is one huge thing missing that other tracking apps have. It doesn’t seem possible to see the macro % of total calories consumed, only the percentage of targets. Keto is about the ratio of macros, not necessarily calorie targets, so this seems like a huge oversight. I have seen it mentioned on community forum since 2018, but have either not found this option or it hasn’t been added. It can almost be seen in a bar graph of calories consumed but there are no data labels, just colour breakdowns. EDIT unfortunately the solution you described doesn’t work. There are no data labels displayed when you click on the bars on iPhone or iPad. Thanks though, but I think I’ll be going back to Yazio.
This is the best tracker out there focusing only what is needed
I had bought the old now legacy app and really loved it. Now they are letting the old one die and offer the same „new“ app on a subscription basis. Seriously? While I get that a business needs to earn money I have really come to hate that so many apps suddenly want a monthly fee.
Not working since the last update.
