Boring
Like going back 20 years in time to when the audio medium was underdeveloped and people listened to monologues burping up facts without questioning them. Boring, almost fell asleep… app works nice though.

Perfect for the ones enjoying good journalism !!
This app used to be great, barring a few recurring audio and UX problems, but new content hasn’t been added in months! It’s the day after the US election and one of the headline stories is still a “the Kamala Harris problem”. It’s been in there for months! All the other stories are equally old. Unsubscribing.
I honestly can’t fathom why the UI has been completely overhauled into an AI text prompt mess. It’s really sad because I used the app daily and had managed to curate all my interests and preferences so well, only for it to now be impossible to find/navigate. The human narration was one of the best and most comforting features too. I can’t see myself keeping my subscription… Please change it back!
You’re curious right ? So you value humanity and people and interactions? Well Curio saw fit to fire the interesting narrators and replace them with lifeless AI voices . Own goal 🥅! I’m now only curious about how much more they could ruin a great app .
I used to love this app. The idea and the interface and the human voices telling me news and interesting facts, story telling. Now it’s a cold ugly interface, where AI asks something, and is read by a cold voice which is probably AI too. I hate it so much, I would want a refund. But probably AI is the only one that reads this too.
Go back to the old format where we can freely browse articles - god this new chatbot style is just tedious and prevents discovery of stuff we wouldn’t listen to normally
I’ve used Curio for a couple of years now and prior to the AI update found it a really useful, interesting app. It was easy to navigate and I liked that it was a human reading the articles to me. However, the August 2024 update (for me personally) has made the app almost unusable! The AI interface now asks specifically what I want articles on as opposed to previously suggesting curated articles from a range of categories and subjects that I had interest in ( the previous version had a huge range of topics that you could click/highlight and it would suggest articles in those subjects). Another annoyance is that it’s now an AI voice reading the articles to you and not a person. Anyway long story short I’ve now cancelled my subscription after over over two years of happy membership.
The app was perfectly fine before this gimmicky chat bot idea came out, it’s very frustrating to use now, I’m unsubscribing, hope you’ve appealed whatever analyst, investor, or coworker that said this was a good idea.
I used to love the old version of curio and had recommended it to so many people, before they forced users to use their new AI version. It’s now a completely different app, full of glitches, closes all the time for no apparent reason and only uses automated ai voices to read out articles. It’s much harder to use, you can’t save / access / download articles in the same way any more and it’s just lost all sense of personality/ uniqueness. I’m so disappointed - I wish there was a way we could access the old version because I would happily continue paying for that.
