Description

The idea behind this application is that it will help you track and manage your Vitamin D.
This new version integrates with the Apple Health app to make seamless data exchange possible in the following ways:
* on setup, profile information is fetched from the Health App if the user allows it
* the user's weight (a factor in D generation) is fetched on an ongoing basis, making it unnecessary to update it
* the app will write vitamin D doses, including session information into the Health app
You setup basic information one time, like your height and weight and skin type and then any time you are outside, during the prescribed hours (and parts of the year), you can have it compute the amount of D you are getting in a stopwatch interface. It will also track how long you can stay out and warn you when the time is up.
The application will notify you with the next opportunity to generate vitamin D.
Each day, you can see forecasts based on your location, and you can also see the solar position, your generated vitamin D vs. target etc.
In the Pro version, you can see your exposures' history and you will be able to schedule future events for next exposures.

D Minder Pro Reviews

App was good, now just goes to a blank screen.

BDHopkinsMD on

The app was working fine, but after about a month and a half, it just went to a blank screen every time I turned it on. I deleted the app and restored it to my phone. After that, it worked for about a week and then went back to doing the same thing. Very unstable. They need to fix this bug.

Ads make app unusable

Used to love this app, now the ads make it obnoxious and impossible to even use. Disappointing to say the least

Taken Over By Add

johnt10 on

The app was good for what it was until the recent update. Now it’s fully taken over by ads that will take over your screen and stop anything you’re listening to from playing. I just deleted the app it’s so useless now.

Was great! Not now

Latest update makes advertisements full screen, app locks up. Now free version is unusable.

Intrusive ads

Was great until they started having intrusive ads pop up before the start of each sun session!

“You won!” Ad hijacked my phone

Been using this two years. After update, I opened to track like usual - only to have my entire screen taken over by one of those sketch “you won!” ads. It stopped my music playing and I had to force quit app. Deleted. Good riddance!

Needs work

It’s a good concept but the user interface leaves a lot to be desired.

Good; just a couple issues

It could be more attractive, but does the job it’s supposed to. I work in circadian/quantum biology and we refer people to this app all the time. My only issue recently is that my 7/30/90 day Reports got really wonky. Like -386,471-type numbers after weeks and months of building up my summer D levels. Only my daily dial is accurate. I’d normally delete the app and reinstall, but I don’t want to lose my current D estimate (currently at 66). The only other thing I’ll say is that I wish it did a better job of warning you about potential skin damage/sun burn when you do multiple sessions in a day. Like, I wish it took cumulative exposure from all sessions in one day and recommended you stop at a certain point based on that, rather than basing it on each single session.

Helpful App but…

I’ve been using this app for several years and really enjoy it, I just have one complaint. The D available times in white against a gray background It’s very hard to see. It would be nice to have more of a contrast so that those of us with compromised vision can better distinguish the times…

I use this app daily to track and manage Vit D

ElleinPhx on

I started using this app 2 years ago to track and manage sun exposure. I have my vitamin D levels checked quarterly. This app has made all the difference in helping me increase my Vitamin D levels to a healthy range— something I was not able to do in 10+ years with oral Vit D supplementation.
