Description

The idea behind this application is that it will help you track and manage your Vitamin D.
This new version integrates with the Apple Health app to make seamless data exchange possible in the following ways:
* on setup, profile information is fetched from the Health App if the user allows it
* the user's weight (a factor in D generation) is fetched on an ongoing basis, making it unnecessary to update it
* the app will write vitamin D doses, including session information into the Health app
You setup basic information one time, like your height and weight and skin type and then any time you are outside, during the prescribed hours (and parts of the year), you can have it compute the amount of D you are getting in a stopwatch interface. It will also track how long you can stay out and warn you when the time is up.
The application will notify you with the next opportunity to generate vitamin D.
Each day, you can see forecasts based on your location, and you can also see the solar position, your generated vitamin D vs. target etc.
In the Pro version, you can see your exposures' history and you will be able to schedule future events for next exposures.

Not working

I have tried to download this app about six times over the week and it takes me to where I am asked to track and to apple health but then I'm left with a blank screen.....nothing comes up???

Won’t save sun session

Current version on latest iOS won’t save sun session when amending time.

Preferences not saved

Keeps defaulting to another location! What’s happened to this ????

Has potential

On my iPad the timer keeps stopping during a session. I also can’t seem to change the skin tone setting. The app page says they are offering free upgrade during the pandemic, but that’s not true. It’s a great idea, but not really working properly, I would be happy to pay for an upgrade, especially if could see what the upgrade offers, which I can’t. I do like how it calculates how much I’m getting based on my details and location and time of day.

Useful Tool

The app is great, definitely a great tool to get a rough estimate of your vitamin d levels. It has everything you need to know and is very accurate. Only thing I have noticed is the auto detect overcast option, I can’t tell if it’s working or not, I take a picture of the sky and it always adjusts it to 0% even if there is visible overcast.

Great idea for smart sun exposure!

Features I like: - max sun exposure timer & UX index to help my family avoid getting sunburnt - measures vitamin D based on age & location - estimated total vitamin D Don’t quite understand the yearly chart for my location... hmm could be me though!

Vitamin D good

This app helps disprove the modern notion that we need to slap on sunscreen all the time, Vitamin D and the most natural source, sun exposure, is critical for reducing depression as well other Vitamin D deficient ailments. People generally need more sun exposure and this app certainly helps that aim. Well done!

Bad Interface

I like what the app does, but the interface is confusing. I started a sun session, then couldn’t end it. Needs a big user-interface overhaul.

Some tweaking needed

I really like this app, though it does need some improving. For example, I live in Winmalee Australia which is in e blue mountains but my altitude in the app is 0m, when it should be 300m. As altitude affects uvb, it makes me think that the estimates aren’t as accurate as they could be.
