Daikin One Home

When our 30+ year old AC quit, local heating & air suggested AC unit with heat pump. I was apprehensive when he said it could lower heating bills by 25-30% but I happy with results. Compared to last year electric usage on similar temperatures, it actually was 30% less. It has kept up with heating until outside temperatures got down to single digits. Glad we got it. Also Daikin has an outstanding warranty.

It does not heat my house

I had an Ecobee thermostat for about 2 years so I admit I am a little spoiled. But when I needed to replace my system, I chose the Daikin Fit paired with the Daikin One Touch thermostat which seems very good so far. But I really miss basic things like opening the app and being able to tell exactly what my HVAC system was doing whether it’s cooling, heating (auxiliary heating coils or not), fan mode & speed. Not so with the Daikin. You can’t tell by the app what’s going on at all. You can’t even tell if it’s running. Sometimes the outside unit is running for no reason and there’s no way to know why. If Daikin is reading this, please try imitating the Ecobee’s functions. With a few improvements, the Daikin system and app would be THE BEST residential HVAC system period. IMO.

I really like this app because it’s easy to use. There are some features I would recommend for it such as keeping one setting (like the old-fashioned). I love being able to change my settings while I’m away from home.

Too confusing!!!

The app is useless if I can’t sync my thermostat with the app. The app is asking for a code, but the settings/account on the thermostat has no code to give…

I really like my new heat pump system, but the app and thermostat leave something to be desired. I can’t figure out why I paid twice as much for this thermostat only to lose basic smart thermostat features. I had a Nest and loved the energy report and geofencing features. Daikin has no energy report, and geofencing is unusable by more than one phone. If those two features were fixed, I’d love my system.
