If you like Apple Shortcuts or are learning how to develop them, this app is a MUST. When I learned JSON, this app became very easy and convenient to use. I recently used it for a project where I setup a flow of shortcuts to save App Store icons, store app info and base64 values as well as the image urls to create visually pleasing menus. This would've been so much work without Data Jar. I now have all this info easily accessible between my devices, in a visually-pleasing format. Thank you, Simon!
Great app, missing Boolean action
Love the app, fills in the gap of needed global values for Shortcuts. Has most related actions, except for one glaring miss. Since you allow Boolean type values, where is the Boolean action to set a value?
Worth the tip jar, thanks!
amazing app- one suggestion
this app is super useful and i have a suggestion for the developer- create folders for values. i have upwards of 50 values at this point, a lot of them are for shortcuts that use 5-10 stored variables. it would be nice to be able to put them in folders corresponding with the shortcut they belong to, just so it's easier to find things in the app. it gets very cluttered when you start using a lot of values. love the app tho! ive been able to do so much more with shortcuts since downloading. oh and left a little something in the tip jar :)
Simple and Powerful
This is awesome for just keeping data, like notes or anything, but the way that this interacts with shortcuts is amazing. I used to use apple notes and reminders to store my data for shortcuts. This is a million times better. And this app has a lot of actions in shortcuts, which is teaching me even more ways to be efficient. Love it!
Beginner
Learning a lot about using this app with shortcuts to automate my life with simple easy data entry. Reduces scrolling thru files or notes!
Great balance
No adds, no initial cost, no special account needed. Just a tip jar. I’ve used it for 15 minutes and already left a tip. This fills an important niche for anyone writing shortcuts!
Thank you!
Thank you so much for writing this helpful app and providing it for free. It has helped my shortcuts immensely
Time management
I have been using this app for some time now.
It’s a lot more lightweight than the alternatives, and it’s extremely straightforward.
I’ve been using this app primarily to help me do time management, but I love the idea that I can do more if I so choose.
My only gripe, which is just a personal ‘inconvenience’, if even that, is that there isn’t a standalone app for the Apple Watch. But really, the convenience of this app has spoiled me.
I just got the app and it's asking for a review.
How am I supposed to know if I will use it, much less how to rate it! I'm giving a 3 for benefit of the doubt.
Just what I need!
Great for simple storage of values to persist between Shortcut runs.
A great, purpose-built tool!
I'm so glad that this syncs between iphone and mac. So many workflows for me are possible because of this.
