reat App to start learning on how to get to GPT & Groks
All learning portals have a bunch of videos. Some “popular” learning portals are overrated for having just videos, I’ve seen a few courses which comprises a bunch of documents and the user has to READ them, ridiculous. I can see Datacamp’s efforts of making the courses interactive and aiming to give a hands on experience as we learn. I am sure to keep that subscription on for as long as focus on my professional development.
The overall experience is great. One thing pull me back is that the lack of dark mode.
Python and R seem to have their own functional workspaces to practice with outside of the lessons, but not yet for SQL. When that happens, I’ll give this app a 5 star rating for sure!
Good learning experience overall. Please include dark mode in the mobile app (website as well if possible)
I am enjoying the short lessons broken down from the different sections. Makes it easier to follow and absorb the information quickly. I’m new to data science and data science camp, and am having fun learning.
I really enjoyed learning Python for data science using DataCamp especially on my MacBook Pro. The app is a great addition for practicing on the go as well. So far, I have not encountered anything out of ordinary.
I decided to learn how to use Python at my free time and as a beginner, this experience has been horrible for me. It’s not explanatory enough and it’s a struggle to understand the tasks. Also, sometimes my answers are right but the application just doesn’t accept it. I even went back to review the tasks and watched the videos from the beginning but still unnecessarily difficult to understand. I have now given up and going to find a better way to learn how to use Python. The theory aspect is lacking a lot of details and for a beginner, it’s frustrating. I’ve never done programming or coding before so why not simplify it step by step and explain why somethings are the way they are. For example why do we have a negative (-) indicator was not explained and now I just don’t know when to use it. When I’m asked used slicing to create a list, I kept on trying but I just didn’t get it. Do better please. Thank God I didn’t do the monthly subscription!
Disappointed with the lack of professionalism. BEWARE of providing any billing information to Datacamp everyone, as you have no option in the future to remove it. I got no notification of automatic annual billing, and only found out when I had a $300 charge to my credit card. They claim to give a notice, but they do not. There is also NO reliable way of contacting support for datacamp, making the matters worse. As a result, I am taking this to the bank and legal action. Be careful everyone
Datacamp used to be awesome. I have learnt and practice coding on my phone with ease and pleasure. However, after upgrade there are some key typing features missing that really annoys me: 1. I used to just double tap on the “_ _ _ _” section and select only the underscore area and just start typing, easy. Now I cannot. I have to try to tap at the right location to delete these lines before typing, terrible. 2. When you type in ‘, “, ( and [ it automatically give you a pair, you know like what you expect in any coding environment. This feature now is not there any more. Ease of typing on the phone was a very good reason to learn coding in this app. Taking that away makes it pointless.
