Originally released by LucasArts in 1993 as a sequel to Ron Gilbert’s ground breaking Maniac Mansion, Day of the Tentacle is a mind-bending, time travel, cartoon puzzle adventure game in which three unlikely friends work together to prevent an evil mutated purple tentacle from taking over the world!
Now, over twenty years later, Day of the Tentacle is back in a remastered edition that features all new hand-drawn, high resolution artwork, with remastered audio, music and sound effects (which the original 90s marketing blurb described as ‘zany!’).
Players are able to switch back and forth between classic and remastered modes, and mix and match audio, graphics and user interface to their heart’s desire. We’ve also included a concept art browser, and recorded a commentary track with the game’s original creators Tim Schafer, Dave Grossman, Larry Ahern, Peter Chan, Peter McConnell and Clint Bajakian.
Day of the Tentacle was Tim Schafer’s first game as co-project lead, and a much beloved cult classic! This special edition has been lovingly restored and remade with the care and attention that can only come from involving the game's original creators.

Where’s the audio?

This is one of the greatest games of all time and I can’t hear a word of it! I don’t even want to start until I get the audio. Checked all the audio settings, increased my phones volume to 11. Nothing. Sincerely, Disappointed of Bedfordshire.

Best adventure game out there

Stunning graphics and sounds underpinned by an amazing story. I was also happy that they kept the Easter egg predecessor game (maniac mansion) in there -on Ed’s computer- so really it’s two games.

No Sound

Used to work great, but no sound these days unless you have an old device that’s not been updated. Shame.

Wonderful nostalgic puzzle fun

I enjoyed this game so much! I remember playing the original but I never completed it. It was so satisfying to finally play it all the way through. The puzzles and comedy still work really well. The graphics and interface have been updated for iPad in a way that really works. Highly recommended game

No sound

No Sound!

Just downloaded on IPhone 12pro max and there is no sound at all in the game. Not a happy bunny!

Fantastic but not updated! Be warned

Do not purchase if you have the latest version of the Apple software, as it won’t work with it! However, before the updates, I thoroughly enjoyed replaying this game again and again, it is one of the best and funniest clip I and point adventure games out there.

A classic at your fingertips!!

Always been a huge fan of point and click games, and DOTT is one of the best. I’ve played it multiple times over the years (decades 😱) and I’m still not bored of its quirkiness and originality. There is nothing else out there quite like it!! Use fork on spaghetti hair 🤣🤣

My favourite game as a child on the PC and this handy version didn’t disappoint. Just need Sam & Max in the road to be available now and will be greatly satisfied.
