D&D Beyond Reviews

Nice

It’s really good but it needs more character slots

Wizards of the coast is ran by idiots

elbowpenguin on

Defaulting my spells to the 2024 rulebook without my permission is enough for me to never use this app again. I will be illegally pirating all wizards of the coast content from here on out.

Screw These Guys

None of your money you spend here will matter, it can all be rendered void in an instant. This is a million dollar rip-off disguised as a god-send. Do. Not. Get. This. App

Doesn’t care for player base

Messler31 on

I’m a dnd player of over a decade and I’m currently in seven games, I play all spell casters. They are completely changing old spells. Which completely ruins things for ongoing games. Not worth spending a single cent on this game anymore when other ttrpgs are much better and actually care about their player base. I’ve put years into some of the characters I have on this site/app, and now that they aren’t keeping ALL content from 5e they have shown me that maybe it’s time to move onto other games.

Needs a ton of work.

This app has only basic function. It is completely un intuitive. The character sheet is not easy to read. It needs lots of work. Hero Labs is far superior.

Hasbro never learns

They constantly mess up this IP because they are inept and keep pushing profit over customers. I’ll gladly give you the money you so desire if you’d just use your ears and listen to the population you’re screwing over every chance you get. Hasbro needs to sell WotC immediately.

The app is adequate

Watching hasbro do what hasbro does is my biggest gripe with the app. IYKYK

Don’t waste your time.

With the new dnd 2024 update that will happen soon all old spells and items will be deleted. And they will not refund you for wasting your money. You have no rights to the content YOU bought. Don’t waste any money on this site you’re better off buying the book at least you get to keep that. If their not willing to work with us. Don’t give them your hard earned cash.

Removing Old Content from 5e

JokerRico1956 on

Forcing customers to delete years of content is absolutely criminal. I use this app because I was tired of using 3rd party apps. I hope this reaches out to more people. Not having a legacy tab for people who aren’t ready to go to the new addition is absolute insanity.

Disappointing Management

Balasar5 on

Overall I like the app as it makes much of the legwork in DnD more convenient especially for newer players. However I have today learned that they are planning to remove 5e content in the near future, after my friends and I have spent loads of money and time learning the system. I understand the the next edition will improve a lot of things overall, but there are also many changes that I disagree with. I am excited for One DnD to come out but I also shouldn’t be forced to play the next edition if I don’t want to. They are only removing spells and magic items at first but, knowing hasbro, they will get rid of the rest of the 5e content as soon as they can just so that more people will buy into the next edition. I love DnD but poor management and blatant disregard for customers by Hasbro has made me lose some faith in the franchise and I am starting to seriously consider switching to a different system.
