Very good journalling app! I moved from Day One to Diarly.
This is one of the most underrated app there is. Found it via setapp though I don’t use setapp. Main reason I moved from Day One after using Day One since the Classic version : 1. Diarly has the search feature I want - search terms to be highlighted within each entries on iOS and iPadOS. I constantly search for information on my phone and it’s super annoying that Day One in iOS does not show highlighted search results within each entry. I have to read through long entries to find my medical records or some other events. 2. Sync is fast and via iCloud. I can attach images, PDFs, videos, audios. 3. Tags are colored! Multiple journals! 4. Plenty of themes to choose from. Can be customised. Wish I can use more than 1 customised theme at one time though. 5. Search bar is super useful - I often search using keyboard #tags /journal @todo will return what I want. 6. Very responsive developer - I emailed him for some issues and he responded real quick. 7. IMPORTANT - exporting to markdown with all the attachments in a journal, everything can be copied to an Obsidian vault which will be rendered perfectly - all attachments and even links. Yes Diarly has forward linking. No backlink but forward linking to entries will be exported into Obsidian as well. I export weekly entries as backup. Super happy with this. 8. Import from Day One - works perfectly. Everything imported with images, PDFs etc. (take note though Diarly will merge all entries on that same date into one single entry. It doesn’t support multiple entires per day in the same journal) bummer if you like to make ‘atomic’ journal entries. 9. Latest feature - tag colors and editor is really useful. Quick open feature! Life saver so I don’t have to search notes all the time. SOME WISHLIST 1. If only we can search by date or date range!! Would be the perfect app then. 2. Hope to support multiple entries per date per journal. 3. Improved navigation with keyboard - back and forward especially after using links. 4. Hope to have individual locked entries. Like bear. 5. Editing of PDF and images - possible to be saved within Diarly itself instead of save to Files. So I can literally use Diarly for my Everything Notebook.
