Veracrypt on ios!

Onejoebloggs on

This app is exactly what I need. It should be better known.

Simple but effective

SteveSmother on

The app is super effective, seems stable, and the author is continuously improving it. Definitely recommended!

Such an amazing app!!

kookaburrasittinginthetree on

I don’t understand why this app is not more widely used and more popular. There’s nothing like it on iOS. It’s serves a major use case and does it so well. Free and open source! Kudos to the developer. Keep it up

Issues not resolved by developer

Avolition on

Brought up below issues with developer. I assume none are going to be resolved as he just stopped replying. TL;DR: 1) Does not work with Google Drive. 2) can't edit basic.txt files. 3) can't add a new file (like.txt) to existing container or import anything from other apps (photos, videos, etc). Basically, it's read only. 1) Import / 'open in' from Google Drive app failed to work for veracrypt.hc file. The file is only 1mb. When I clicked 'open in' and selected Disk Decipher nothing happened; no acknowledgement, success or error; just nothing... No matter what pin / pw settings I applied within the app. Worked from dropbox fine, but I don't use dropbox. All my files are in GDRIVE. App summary states "etc", without specifying GDRIVE does not work. 2) After I imported from dropbox to test my other required features, the app wouldn't allow me to save my edit of the .txt file within veracrypt.hc ... Opened fine, was able to copy and paste data into the txt file, but when saving it just displayed an error regarding "could not save file" or something; I tried re-opening the container and a bunch of other attempts to edit; wouldn't even save a single char edit. So it appears I have no edit capability whatsoever. 3) App should contain the ability to add new files to existing containers; like the ability to create a .txt file in an opened container. 4) Additional feature suggestions: It'd be good if users could import files from other apps (photos, videos, etc) into an existing container (eg. pre-created / pre-imported container; either pre-decrypted prior to, or decrypted at time of, import of the desired file). The app could be a strong competitor for MyEyesOnly et al password / file safes if it could accomplish file imports and actually create new containers, in-app of a specified size or dynamically (by refactoring VC's open source encryption code or whatever), that'd enhance it's ability to compete against the other mainstream non-open source file encryption apps.

Great for accessing Dropbox truecrypt

Hopeypooze on

Easy access to contents of my encrypted stuff on Dropbox. Great app thank you!

Frustrating and does not work for Me

An0nym0us32 on

This is an excellent app that works perfectly. 5 stars!

It's great!

dkjme on

This app was just what I was looking for! I was unable to find any other app that could handle TrueCrypt volumes (although that may say more about my searching skills or the workability of the App Store search function). Dropbox integration is great, however automatic URI encoding of Dropbox paths would be a nice addition (perhaps there are technical reasons for not having this). It does exactly what it says on the tin. Note however, that the tin doesn't say anything about writing to a volume. The author says that this ability may make it into a future version of the application.

It's Finally Brilliant

The Disk Decipher app does indeed open TrueCrypt volumes and works just how I would like it to.

Works a treat

37Gadget on

Great solution to the portability of my FreeOTFE volumes. I'm looking forward to future enhancements of functionality. Great work!

Great!

Truecryptreviewer on

Works as expected. I was able to open a truecrypt file with it.
