Dragon Anywhere

The app is astonishing in its accuracy and ease of use on both the iPhone and iPad. It has become an essential work ‘go to’ for me. Hopefully it will just go from strength to strength. One downside is the subscription expense and which price point I think needs revision, especially if you also purchase the desktop software. However, if you need accurate and fast voice to text software, the is THE product to use.

The built-in dictation option in Notes on iOS is good, and works fine for short reminders etc, but Dragon Anywhere is in an entirely different league. I used Dragon on Mac desktop for a project some years back and liked it, though the fiddling around with microphone inputs and Mac audio preferences was a bit painful. Looking for something for a new project t I first though of going the same route but then reckoned the flexibility of having the microphone in my phone (even if only moving about the house) was worth trying. The result is a no-frills (even quite basic) app that nevertheless impressed with remarkably accurate transcription and a simple and clever sync to Dropbox that means your new text files are ‘everywhere’. I’d have loved more flexibility with shortcuts and inter-app sharing (for instance I use PhraseExpress for shortcuts to boilerplate text, and would love to be able to call up shortcuts by voice, but perhaps that’s a limitation of iOS). That said Dragon Anywhere has a useable shortcut system built-in which will be enough for most users. Otherwise this is a near-perfect implementation of dictation to text software and, for anyone with the need for accuracy, reliability and volume, is well worth the annual subscription.

Not worth the money each month. No advance notice of a deduction

Regularly won’t let me log in, telling me my details are wrong and then won’t let me reset password.

I tried to use this, but there’s no button to send a transcription as an attachment. The commands per the tutorial don’t work. It seems to transcribe accurately, but u it’s not usable because the features and then sending the document don’t exist.

I cannot tell you how frustrated I have been just trying to sign up for this. I remember the old transcription software used to be a pain as well. If I could ever figure out how to subscribe and let it give me my free trial maybe I would enjoy it, but I will never know because I want to throw my computer out the window right now as a result of this app.Literally anything would be better.

The app wiped a month of data/wording from a document and couldn’t be recovered. Customer service couldn’t help and using the app the cursor seems bounce around all over the document for no reason.

Been a user/subscriber to Dragon Anywhere (and desktop version) for years. Recently got a new iPhone and have been trying to get app to accept my credentials that I’ve had since my subscription started years ago. Attempts to reset password met by silence from Dragon/Nuance. Never a problem charging my account for the subscription but getting ghosted when trying to use an app I’ve paid for. Really questioning whether this company is able to keep up with other voice-recognized technologies. Certainly they have little interest in keeping current customers.

I paid for a years worth and it is absolutely trash it doesn’t work. I want my $160 back!!!

The app has major problems. The red/green microphone button jumps from the bottom of the screen, where it belongs to the top. At the top it is blocking all your text so when you dictate, you cannot see what you have dictated. I spent and hour with tech support and they finally got it to work. When I hung up the phone and went back to the app, you guessed it, the red button was at the top of screen and blocking my view of the text. The tech said he had never heard of this issue and when I look at the reviews, I can see it is kind of common. Maybe they need to update the app more than once ever few years. Simply terrible Jim L
