Okay so I had an account ages ago. I canceled it. Today I went to resubscribe and it says I already have a subscription ( that I haven’t had for years, literally). I don’t remember my login or even what email address I used. Not that I would have access to it now anyway. Sorry people I’m not creating a new Apple account just to use your app. This is ridiculous.

Text was wrong. Could not log in. Slow to pick up. Toyed with it for an hour and then gave up.

When I am in the app, trying to write a document, all I can see is the title if I’m using the Dragon dictation. I can’t even see what I’ve previously written more or less what is being written as I speak it to know if I need to do any corrections. I have to click on the keyboard icon to switch over to view. When I use the microphone, everything below that, the vast majority of the screen, is completely blank. I have searched everywhere in settings and commands that would possibly have something to tell me how to get the buttons, including the microphone button to the bottom of the screen so that I can see what’s being typed or to display what is being typed below the buttons, but to no avail. I’ve been paying for the subscription for years, but when I try to use the software, I end up having to just use Apple dictate.

This app works well until it does not. It is very glitchy with the iOS for example, on my phone, when I dictate, I am unable to see my dictation for some reason until I hit the keyboard down button. So I ended up having to uninstall and reinstall the app. It will work for a while, but once I switch between applications such as send via email or, touch the keyboard again, I’m once again unable to see my dictation. For the most part, it works like the normal dragon on a desktop, but needs a little tweaking. I’m hoping the developer can help me troubleshoot. What is going on and fix the problem other than this problem, it really is what I needed for work.

I hope they will add a medical dictionnary and changing the font of the text. Also i wish they include some AI just to correct grammer. Hope they will add all of this in their next update..

Can’t even get fully set up and contacted them several time by phone and customer support. Still no help.

There’s no point in dictating a document if I cannot send the document to myself on email. Nothing will email out of dragon. What is wrong with your app?

You can sign up but you won’t be able to sign in. This program once had a good reputation, so hopefully they fix whatever some fool messed up in their programming.

I really want to love this product. There are wonderful things about it and it also can be very frustrating. The dictation is excellent, much better than iOS dictation. That might change soon with the advent of AI technology. Very frustrated that they did a software upgrade and it wiped out my custom dictionary. I invested a lot of time to define 40 or 50 custom words for esoteric terms, and Indian words, only to find one day that it was gone. I had a very hard time getting a hold of Customer Support. There are tech-support number as of April 2024 is 857-214-6311. The tech-support person told me that they did a software system upgrade that wiped out the dictionary. That means everyone’s custom dictionaries were wiped out. As a software engineer, I know that with a bit of software development work, they could have avoided that nastiness. instead, they are happy to flush everyone’s time down the drain.

OK, when this app works, it’s still the best of the paid dictation apps I’ve come across, better at least than Apple and Google. But it’s got a number of glitches that I’ve been meaning to tell the developers about for a long time, in case they don’t know: One, the app takes seemingly forever, in a modern sense, to load a new file for dictation, sometimes taking 20 or 30 seconds. Two, toggling between subject line of a file, and the body of the file takes a bizarre 3 to 5 seconds. Three, if you ever have to type something via the keyboard that pops up in the app, to add something or clarify, something that you’re dictating, get ready for a shockingly slow experience, I’m talking about something like one to three seconds per single letter entry, slower than a typewriter. Four, the app has major issues and has had for the last one or two years, with Bluetooth pairing. It used to, three or four years ago, give the user a sound when Bluetooth was paired or unpaired. But now, for those of you who may like to walk while dictating, or just pace around and not glance at the screen, constantly, there is no warning given when Bluetooth unpaired. This is really important because the quality of your headset really matters if you have background noise, and so the dictation can go from quite good to absolute garbage without warning you that it’s converted to garbage mode. The only reason I stick with this app still, and prefer it to Google, an apple, is it there is no timing out feature so you can dictate, as long as the above conditions are met, relatively freely for 20 or 30 minutes or longer without interruption, as long as you don’t have pauses of silence greater than 30 to 60 seconds. I’m not sure of the exact clock out time but you do have to watch the app to confirm you’re still dictating, if you’ve been quiet for a while. If the developers could please fix these above problems, my rating would improve dramatically, and I think the popularity of this app, and therefore the revenue and brand recognition, would also improve concomitantly. thank you for reading this review, which I wrote via Apple iPhone dictation :-)
