Drambo is an innovative modular groovebox and audio processing environment. Modular components are used to build synthesized and sample based instruments or audio effects using high-quality DSP and audio-rate modulation. Tied to a powerful sequencer, it’s an optimal music creation tool for sound design, composition, performance and experimentation.

At the heart of Drambo lies an entirely new concept that makes modular creations easy, fun and affordable. Modules are connected automatically, with no cables as you add or rearrange them. A dynamic interface creates modulation knobs when you need them. Modules may house other modules, so you can keep your patch well organized. Of course, automatic connections can be overridden. • A complete music production and performance environment

• Endless modular playground, that allows you to build, modify and store custom instruments and effects. For instance: build a custom synth, sample and resample, build a Theremin using a gyroscope module, or turn your table into a playable surface, by processing microphone input with physical modelling modules. Get weird or make functional instruments and tools.

• MIDI sequencer, that works with hardware and AUv3 instruments (e.g. Drambo sequences other instruments in an AU host app). Moreover Drambo can generate custom MIDI CC messages or modulation signals to control modular synths via DC coupled interfaces.

• AUv3 synthesizer, effect or sequencer in other DAWs. Drambo can replace a lot of audio plugins. For instance: you may use it as a chorus, phaser, reverb, filter, equalizer, complex modular delay, decimator, frequency shifter, MIDI effect or complex modulator for other synths. You may combine, modulate and sequence them in no time.

Only DAW that dose not crash or not load multiple BeatHawk ( best samples at a good price ) auv3 on clean restart. Yes garageBand, CUBase, zen, etc. are unstable or don’t work. Same as I like the workflow on cubase, GarageBand, best. But in the end stability beats anything.

Quite possibly THE best for music production on iPad!

I had never even considered that it would be possible to make music on an iPad about two months ago. My background is in using Cubase and Studio One on either PC or Mac but I've always found it hard to complete tunes or beats. That is until now! I'm not used to grooveboxes but, after a few YouTube videos, Drambo has become second nature to me now and the possibilities are honestly endless. Just give it a try!

Still doesn't work on my M1 Mac

Still doesn't run after atest update, no sound, displays an error on launch. Latest Big Sur OS, latest version of Drambo. Zilch. Developer responded with a couple of suggestions, but none of them worked and they haven't replied since, so obviously doesn't care I have this issue. All my other iOS/Mac compatible apps work without a hitch. Please fix. Update v2.25 - still doesn't open.

THE GREATEST APP EVER MADE!

Amazing! Incredible! Wonderful! I cannot overstate this: THIS. APP. CAN. DO. ANYTHING!!! If you can imagine it, you can build it. I have a studio full of hardware, synths, MIDI controllers, Ableton etc. Drambo has enabled me to connect and control it all - in a way that simply wasn’t possible before. You do need to put the time in. Keep using it, try every module. Slowly possibilities will emerge that will blow you away. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING IT!!!

It keeps crashing on me

It’s ok , if it wouldn’t keep crashing on me , it keeps crashing,so I’m not impressed

Amazing Sequencing system

If you like the way Elektron devices work, then this app will be heaven for you. The Octatrack was most definitely an inspiration, but Drambo goes far beyond that as it is also a full on Modular system if you want it to be. It can also load AU3s & you get up to 16 tracks to play with. Full Parameter locking is supported and it has Elektron style per step conditions but takes it a bit further as you select multiple trigger steps as opposed to just one. You can also use conditions behind the note to affect only the p-locks for example. I’m still pretty new to it & haven’t explored the Modular side too deeply yet, but it’s a dream come true for me as I really enjoy the Elektron workflow. It’s a bargain at the price it sells for & it also works on Macs.

One app to rule them all…

The modular concept combined with a sequencer, clip launcher, controller and effects rack makes this a uniquely useful and fun app. Works well with external MIDI hardware (synths and drums). I would suggest a way to colour the clip pads and tracks like many launch controllers do because it makes it easier to navigate the clip matrix.

Awesome!

Been using this for couple of months now, new to iOS. I tried NanoStudio first, but found it very buggy when using a lot of AU3s. But tried this and find it very stable. It reminds me of Ableton/ Bitwig in a lot of ways, so versatile and powerful. I love the fact it has a step input sequencer which Ableton doesn’t, really quick to input sequences just like a key step. Negatives for me are mainly the piano roll. can be fiddly and needs an improved undo, often I press undo after making mistakes and it reverts back too many steps and I have to redo the whole thing, but I’m sure this will be improved. I tried AUM as a host but find it saps up my creativity having to think about my routings just to get a sequencer and keyboard connected to a synth , while Drambo just add audio unit, choose audio unit and it’s ready to play. Think Drambo is my portable DAW .....

It’s full of stars!

This was always one of the better ipad apps. This latest update is undoubtedly the most eagerly awaited updates in the iOS music world. It delivers a truly amazing platform for making music. Thank you Giku for the App, Ben for the videos and all the beta testers and forum users that make this such an amazing experience.

Needs an update to fix audio/midi bug

Seems like a nice app but every time I use it on my iPad Air 4, the audio stops working. All other apps work fine but even if I close and reopen Drambo it doesn’t play any sound. The only way for me to fix it is to restart my iPad. It doesn’t look like it has been updated for over a year so I’m guessing this is abandomware so I got a refund.
