Dread Rune Is a roguelike RPG with 3d graphics and lots of variety and replayability. Every game is unique, with seven different playable characters, randomized levels and enemies, and over 130 items to collect and use. The game is simple to get into, but has lots of depth. Mastering of weapons, combos and strategic use of items will be required to win.
Dread Rune includes:
- High replayability: Randomly generated levels, enemies, and items. No two games are the same!
- 12 hero classes: Adventurer, Pirate, Mage, Drunk, Conjurer, Lord,Pump-King, Blink, Ranger, Soul Mage, Necromancer and Chef. Each hero has a unique ability, starting stats and items.
- 5 distinct dungeon regions: Each with unique enemies and environments
- Over 130 different items: including powerful runes, scrolls, weapons, and armour.
- 30+ different enemies, 10 different traps, and 5 bosses to test your skills.
- A destructible environment, create your own path through the dungeon.
- Character upgrades that persist across runs: Damage, Health, Stamina, Speed, Dash Speed, Carry Capacity and Special Cooldown.
- Random events, sometimes good, mostly bad, discover all 18 of these encounters
- Updates, with new content roughly every 6 months.
I am really enjoying this game atm but there is one thing that makes it almost unplayable, The fact that save files corrupt 9/10 of the time whenever I close the app or leave then when go back to countinue my save it never loads I had it open for 1 hour and it did not load so I destroyed my long ahh save So please fix 🙏
Great game
A good souls like dungeon crawler. The combat has simple controls making it good for a mobile game and also has controller support. That fact that this game was a solo dev project is amazing. This game is definitely worth your time and being a free game, there is no downside to getting this game.

Sleeker animation
Dread Rune is quite nice but a few imrpovements could be made towards certain animations towards the character model, such as the light attack animation which looks and feels clunky due to the model’s arm having to reset to its starting position instead of continuing the motion fully like having the arm swing back from the left to the right then from the right to the left. Another issue is the dash mechanic where I can immediately stop the animation halfway by simply letting go of the joystick letting my character finish the animation while stationary, furthermore the dash does not work unless you are already moving otherwise you remain stationary.
Great game
Absolutely love this game, I hope it blows up and gets a huge player base. So much potential to deepen the systems as-well, even a crafting and gear merging system possibly. Maybe skill trees for combo attacks and special attack mods ? My only worry is that the temple boss is invincible? Every attack says blocked ?
