I use this application daily and it works fine, the big bonus for me is the ability of managing my router remotely, using the quick connect settings. The big issue for me is with Safe Access app: You create profiles and add them to schedules. If you want to extend Wi-Fi access to a profile there is a Reward button to do so. The issue is that after entering the hours and minutes, the router almost never takes the new settings on the first try, I always have to repeat the process a 2nd time to work. Please fix this issue for a 5 star rating.
No way to approve safe access requests. I get email notification with a link but the link opens a web page that sends me to the app which can’t approve it
Since the latest iPhone iOS update July, the green check mark indicating WAN no longer displays and an error occurs occasionally. Number of devices connected are not shown. Taping the connections will still populate with all the devices.
It seems admin has to be in the same wifi network to control the settings.
Just started using this app and it works fine for some actions, but there’s a few notable shortcomings: 1. Notifications of domains blocked by safe access filters don’t mention which device was trying to access the domain—which is critical info I need to contact the user(s) affected. 2. I am annoyed at getting “blocked” notifications for domains I manually added to a filter block list. If I manually block a domain, I don’t want to keep hearing about it, so i want the app to avoid sending notifications about explicitly blocked domains.
I purchased a synology router based on high reviews for route with parental controls and the selling point that it is easy to set up. The app froze multiple times during the setup process, causing me to need to relaunch it. I made it through the setup wizard and the router is connected and working (I am using it now), but the app doesn’t recognize the connection. This router is useless to me if I can’t access the parental controls through the app. I am waiting for tech support and am considering returning the router if they aren’t able to resolve the issue.
Much better app compared to competitors. I do wish there was more functionality that the web portal has.
It allows to control many router settings. It would be nice if it would be possible to enable Face ID authentication for the app, so unauthorized person would not mess with the router.
When I block my kids computer, my kid is somehow able to unblock himself by creating another device. I find myself constantly blocking the new device. Is there a solution for this problem?
