Must have device but it could be better. It does as advertised but needs polished. Others covered the device. Basically as they all said, very hard to connect first time. I almost returned. It drops during the cook. If a long cook, be prepared for a few drops. The software has navigation issues (wonky) and they should consider fixing and add premium service features: * Meat temperature trend: Show average temperature increase rate over a specified amount of time. * Ability to add notes on trend lines. * Ability to add pictures to the cook. * Details screen with user fields and standard fields that can be filled out and searchable.Eg: Neat name, weight, side up, rest time, rub used/ingredients, etc. I have a development crew and I understand the pressures. There are several gaping issues, but I assume the programming staff is more of a back office crew. They need to be given some time to revisit the app or outsource it, if it can be afforded. Almost good. Almost. Oh…please give us an “end button”. Or maybe someone give the developer a green egg so this stuff will be obvious.

I can’t begin to express how frustrating this device is. When it works (1 out of 50 times) it is great. If you need to produce food for anyone the other 49 times….better get ready to order pizza. Nearly impossible to get connected to WIFI and keep it stable. Connect with it directly….nearly impossible. Scan a QR Code feature…great idea…but the box doesn’t have QR codes that the app recognizes. Wait here is an idea! Who doesn’t love entering Serial Numbers over and over and over and over and over and over every time the app no longer works and you need to start over by re-adding the device. Fire who designed this product and the app….bring in someone who actually understands how to build a friendly intelligent application/smart device. It is 2024…this isn’t to much to ask for a $300 device.

Worked great two years ago when I bought it. Now the software is really buggy. It’s very difficult/impossible to pair now in local mode. Cloud mode doesn’t work at all.

I have had this controller for a while now. Works great when it works, but nothing but connectivity issues. Good luck getting your Thanksgiving turkey done when fighting this thing to connect to Wi-Fi…

When it works it’s a fantastic product. But the app is unusable, which makes the whole thing useless. So NOT buy this product unless and until they get serious about app quality and reliability

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Worked great the first 2 cooks but after that constantly had to reconnect it. No customer support for it or the app, makes me reconsider not getting the traeger

The app will often just not work at all. Tried to use it this year for Thanksgiving turkey and it ruined everything. I’ve had numerous problems with connecting to the device. The two times it has worked it was incredible. I will never recommend this to product to anyone.
