Kettle was working fine before I followed the included instructions and downloaded this app so it could update. Now the kettle’s temperature display often freezes and I have no idea whether or not it’s at temperature. What are these updates even for? Don’t bother downloading this app, connecting your kettle to WiFi, or even getting updates. If it works out of the box then it’s fine as is.

Like the others here experiencing issues, I cannot update my firmware either. It’s been saying “updating soon” for the past month.

It constantly fails to update the kettle firmware and provide no data to help troubleshoot. No IP address provided in the app. No intel on the kettle itself aside from current firmware, if the can be believed. I have tried all troubleshooting from Fellow with no luck. The kettle itself is great and functions fine stand alone. Do not expect anything from the app or WiFi connection.

At first I could not connect but after a several tries, it did connect and update the firmware. Now it is stuck in “Updating Soon’. But this app seems to have no purpose outside of updating the kettle to do - what? The same things that it was doing fine before. Note - this app does not control the kettle at all. No need to download if that is what you want.

My device wouldn’t update no matter how many times I reconnected it to wifi. Kept saying that it was updating and then that an update was available. First let me just tell you that when your device is updating, you’ll be able to see it on the display with a progress number. So you’ll know when it’s happening. What worked for me was to do this: - Remove the kettle from the app - Unplug the base - Remove the kettle itself from the base as well - Hard kill the app - Plug the base back in - Go through the setup again, setup wifi, and see if it starts actually updating.

As people have been saying for over a year, it is impossible for some to actually update the firmware. Downloads (supposedly) but won’t install. FAQ says uninstall and retry, but that doesn’t help. Not sure why Fellow continues to offer this app. Would be better to just pretend the firmware doesn’t update.

Very simple to use - I had no issues installing & connecting to WiFi. As soon as it was connected, the firmware update automatically downloaded and installed. I’m hoping that down the road this app will add features to allow setting up the various parameters of the kettle from the phone app itself.

My Hue stopped working due to bugs, they confirmed it was my Xfinity modem/router. Fine after upgrading to a Deco mesh router. After doing this, removed kettle from app and reestablished connection. After one day, after months of trying several things.. my firmware finally updated

As others have said, the app does what it’s intended to do: connect your kettle to WiFi and update the firmware. That’s it, though. It literally does nothing else. Ideally you could: - Set the temperature - Set a timer for the kettle to turn on/off - Get an alert if you haven’t set a timer but have stupidly left the kettle on However, it does none of these useful things.

Functioned exactly as the developers said it would. I have no idea why someone could possibly claim they have the grounds to give a one star. Besides, if you can afford the high price tag of the Pro version, be thankful you can at least do that. Let alone the beans, the grinder, the dripper, the filters, the flask, the amount of time and energy it takes farmers to pick coffee cherries in the hot sun to support themselves, their familes, friends, community. Not to mention the entire, global supply chain beans have to go through just so you can drink a nice coffee from the comfort of your residence. And that is just for coffee, tack on tea. But nah, let's complain about an app that you honestly don't even need in the first place. It's just a kettle... A kettle with any app is an app too many.
