Email Client Reviews

I BEG your pardon?

I've been thinking of changing my email app just for the sake of changing things up. Came across Boomerang in an email from Apple recommending a variety of apps, checked it out and decided to try it. First thing I see when I open it? "Start your free trial..." Yeah, I don't think so. Uninstalled immediately and I'm back looking for a free email app that's ACTUALLY free.

Mobile app is bad, general product is great

Being able to bring back (“boomerang”) emails after set periods of times under set circumstances is very powerful. Along with the scheduling and inbox pause features, I couldn’t imagine work life without it. But the app - it hasn’t been updated in a very long time. For years now, if you open an email, usually one with a longer thread, the text will all disappear after a few seconds. I try to rush to read them but end up going over to the Apple Mail app. Basically I will use this app to send emails via mobile and have them boomerang but to read email it is hit or miss. And that’s pretty frustrating.

Apple needs to remove this app because it’s a pay app. You shouldn’t have to pay to get your email in this day. Boomerang should be ashamed of themselves for this. If I could give this no stars I would. This use to be free and now it’s a paid app really just to get your email completely trash of an app.

Why am I suddenly stuck on a pop-up telling me to pay?

Title says it all. I'm using the free plan, my ipad got rid of the app to save space, and I just redownloaded it. No purchases to restore, it just will not go away. The Android app and browser version work fine.

$19.99/month or $179.00/year?

Not even going to try the free 7 day or 14 day trial because that price point is absolutely ridiculous. I mean, if some people are willing to pay those types of subscription fees? Be my guest. But then again, some people think the world is flat. What people do or think doesn't make it a good idea. I'll just use outlook for all my email accounts. At least I can incorporate cloud storage and and entire office suite of apps into my email app.

Zero stars ( they made me click one) A few years ago all of my emails & iCloud were hacked. They changed the passwords and recovery phone/email to all of my accounts so I was unable to ever use them again. I Downloded this app because I wanted to check if the person who hacked all of my accounts, which stored all of my photos, business info, banking info …etc, was still using my emails accounts. This app says it gives you an option to attach a “read receipt” and I thought this is great, now I can see if these people still have access to my email accounts because this app will be able to tell me if my mail was opened. So I sent it out an email to about ten different email accounts, one of which was my new email account to make sure the app actually worked. I instantly got “your email has been read” I went and checked and it said that my email had been opened 16 times, then 22 times, then 33 times.. etc I started to panic because this was my new email account that I just made and I purposely DID NOT open it because I wanted to make sure the app worked . So when it said that my email had been opened by someone else, on a brand new email I panicked. I called apple hysterical, saying someone hacked my email again… I spent an hour on the phone with them. I showed them that all ten of the emails I had sent out to all my iCloud and other email accounts had all been opened 30+ times and then the guy on the phone noticed something. He said go to your sent inbox on Boomerang (this app) and open it up (this is in the sent email box and you open it to see how many times your email has been read) and he said can you just pull down on the page to refresh it, and I did and the email view history went up, I refreshed it again and it went up, and again and it went up. The guy from Apple Store started to laugh and he said “do not trust this app” delete it immediately, because it’s fake it does not work and clearly it is counting when you open the sent email to check if anyone read it , and that’s what it was doing. It WAS NOT CHECKING HOW MANY TIMES THE EMAIL HAD BEEN READ BY THE PERSON I SENT IT TO, instead it was checking how many times I checked to see if it was read. This app caused me severe distress and wasted a good amount of my time and the fact that it is $179 makes me sick. Not only did it do that but it somehow logged me in on safari, froze my phone and wouldn’t let me log out. Even after logging out of the app and deleting it my gmail account said I was still lo

I have been using boomerang for a while now and just came back to read reviews and research other email apps and Im astonished at all of the negative reviews. I use the outlook plug in for follow ups, planning meetings and polling for meetings along with other features and it works well without EVER any issues. Im very happy to pay to use software to help support the developers and think its ridiculous to think that their hard work should be free. This solution works! happy to give a great review and pay for their hard work. Thank you boomerang!

Why do you now have to have a subscription for this email app. This should be free and the devs are a disgrace to me with their ridiculous responses to everyone I’m about to report them to apple for this matter and hopefully apple will remove this app from the store.

Want to love it, can’t even like it

I LOVE Boomerang and all its functions in a desktop browser, I’m a big evangelist for their scheduling plugin too - but this app is barely functional. Retrieving emails (your ONE job!) is a pain and doesn’t work consistently, emails get weirdly truncated, long threads get formatted such that only a couple of letters appear per line so you have to scroll a ridiculously long time to get through a message. I really hope this app is improved significantly.
