Canary Mail FAQ
Is Canary Mail free?
Yes, Canary Mail is free to download, however it contains in-app purchases or subscription offerings.
Is Canary Mail legit?
⚠️ The Canary Mail app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
Thanks for the vote
How much does Canary Mail cost?
Canary Mail has several in-app purchases/subscriptions, the average in-app price is $41.99.
As a recommendation, this app looks good, but as frequently payments are not good, do the payment 1 time better, for I’ll check if it’s better than Apple Mailbox I'll keep using it. If not or it with the same features I'll delete it.
Thanks for understanding
$99/yr for PGP?
PGP used to be listed as a feature for the basic $20/yr subscription but now it appears you need to pay for the Pro+ ($99/yr at time of writing) just to use PGP with your email.... Such a shame I won’t be renewing.
Fantastic app
I absolutely love this email app..it does everything for you..it is wonderful…I can’t believe all email companies are not like this one…
Buggy
Every other day the app doesn’t work. I can’t load emails or delete them. Kinda core functionality. I’m seriously considering moving to Apple mail.
Paid for pro just to have the app crash
Looking forward to this but it’s been buggy
I Iove it
Best Email client if your priority is privacy and security
Buggy
Buggy
buggier by the time
3 releases ago, bugs regarding moving between accounts, labeling for gmail accounts, connecting second gmail account have been communicated to "support". NO ACTIONS TAKEN BUT USELESS "ADVICES". basic operations in Canary are unreliable and generate waste of time. once payment has been collected, Canary is no more interested by customers.
Issue when Selecting Labels
I’ve been using Canary for a while and it’s a great app. A better Apple Mail app. One thing I’ve had an issue with though is when I’m labeling my emails. After I long pressing, select “Labels”, and select a label, it doesn’t show any indication of whether or not I selected the label. Only after I exit the labeling box do I get to see if the email is labeled. It would make Canary x10 better if this could be fixed!
Good but not Top Tier
I have 2 main pieces of feedback upon a few weeks of usage. In general I think this is a really good app but a few things separate it from being a top tier premium service that I think it’s trying to be.
The auto-select unimportant is awesome but I don’t think it learns from my patterns, and it auto-selects further than I’ve scrolled down, which is frustrating and confusing because then I have to scroll to check what it has selected so that I don’t delete something important to me, and so on. Not being able to review this behavior without adding more to potentially review is irritating and defeats the purpose.
My only other piece of feedback is that the paid versions are set into a normal user tier and a multi-platform user tier, and they think that multi-device is synonymous with multi-platform and it isn’t. If I pay for a service I expect to be able to use that service wherever, unless the payment tiers say otherwise. The multi-platform tier on specifies multiple platforms, like iOS vs Android vs Mac vs PC. I read these and thought the normal plan would suffice to me because I don’t have different devices (and the language also kind of hinted at a larger solution, like for businesses).
These are dumb things to overlook but I know they are simple fixes.
