Can I learn to sing?
If you can talk, you can sing. Singing is a completely natural activity; our voices are designed for both speaking and singing (in ancient human tribes, everyone sang, not just a few “professional” singers). Singing uses basically the same skills as speech, but for singing we use our breath differently, hold sounds longer, and use a wider range of tones.

Don’t I need talent?
You may not be able to become the fastest marathon runner. However, unless you have a physical condition that prevents you from running, you can most definitely train to run marathons successfully, and get very good at it through regular exercise. Similarly, you may not be able to become the next Pavarotti; however, you can be as good as many professional singers who sing for a living, provided you train your voice regularly and with focus. Even if you’re not willing to put in a lot of effort, you can always improve from where you are, and have fun singing.

Why do I need training?
Just as you can’t run a marathon without any training and practice, you can’t sing well without training and practice. Lessons used in Erol Singer’s Studio focus on techniques and sounds that show you how to use your voice effectively, and prevent you from making the most common mistakes in singing, such as breathing poorly and closing your throat (e.g. by letting your larynx rise up). These carefully selected sounds, which have been in use for centuries around the world, ensure that your muscles are coordinated in the most useful ways for singing. By practicing these sounds and building up the muscle memory, it becomes easier to sing other sounds as well and you have more freedom in different parts of your vocal range.

First impressions - BRILLIANT!

I’ve only just downloaded the free version and had a go for about 20 minutes. It seems great so far. Most apps I ever got have been very disappointing so this is a refreshing change! It seems very intuitive to use, and the exercises are well thought out. A year ago I had three proper singing lessons with a tutor, but I learned more about my own voice in one session with this app. Thank you so much. 👍

Best app for singing

I bought this back in 2015, I have been using here and there but more focused after pandemic. It’s really a great concept, you can literally see the notes you are hitting in real time, and on top of that you have exercise helping you extend and improve your voice, including ear training.

Seems comprehensive. Good breathing exercises and great warm ups. Have used up to Learner 1 so far, fab for daughter during lockdown to continue singing practice!

Excellent app

I tried a few apps out and this one seems the best. Some do coaching but with no feedback so you can’t easily check for improvement, some do pitch detection but less well, or with less coaching. This app has good coaching, apparently excellent pitch detection and an intuitive interface. I won’t pay for it via app as I detest subscription models with software that does not require very regular updating, but I will look to buy a license on the Windows version when I get a new PC.

Old devices dropped 😩

This used to work brilliantly on the iPad 4. No old version was left in the App Store. Let's all throw our old iPads in the bin? Dev's and Apple have an environmental responsibility to keep older devices useful.

Amazing vocal excercise

I am a regular performer. This has helped me a lot. I am really feeling good after doing this exercise.
