Never quite worked…the app

Serene Scipio on

United States

X8 wouldn’t update firmware and for a time the app would say it’s cleaning while docked. (The timer indicated it had been operating several days before I tried reinstalling the app.) Maps didn’t display vacuum movement. Tried to reinstall X8 and now it won’t connect to WiFi. X8 functions best with buttons on it ordering it to dumbly vacuum the whole house. 3 buttons on machine are more capable than the entire app. I’ll try the app again on a future update. Great robovac at least.

Please fix the app!

AZgirl94 on

I use to love using the eufy vacuum but ever since an update was made to the app, it’s just a frustration and burden to use honestly. The app doesn’t even show the vacuum going anymore, it just thinks it’s always on the base charging. While it’s running the button to pause it constantly stuck on play. If you press the return to home to charge it’ll says it’s already on its charger while it’s midway through your house. It no longer maps where it has been while it’s vacuuming. And it seems to get lost way more then ever now. PLEASE fix the app as this was such a great and helpful product that has become so frustrating to use!

Maps are gone and never saves

Since the latest update all maps are gone. I’ve reset and redone multiple times. They no longer save.

What is privacy anyway?

The app asks for PRECISE location permission “to connect to wifi” which is just a made-up excuse. You can easily enter wifi name/password manually. (I build mobile apps and I know for a fact that this location-permission way is not required). In fact, other smart home apps do it w/o access your precise location. I have network monitoring tool and I can see the device (vacuum cleaner) is constantly calling home/their servers (for no apparent reason, except their own analytics/tracking).

Latest update messed up maps

Faiza’s Mac on

United States

I am now always having to reset and restore the map and the positioning takes at least a good 2-3 minutes. On top of that the feature to return for charging and then resuming cleaning stopped working as well. Was a really good app prior and now it’s a weekly hassle to get the robot to clean and not loose itself.

### Eufy Clean App: A Once-Great Tool Ruined by the Latest Update As a long-time Eufy enthusiast, this review is incredibly difficult for me to write. I've been a loyal customer for years, investing heavily in Eufy's ecosystem with security cameras, smart home devices, and, of course, the Robovac. Eufy's products have consistently impressed me with their reliability, innovation, and user-friendly design. Unfortunately, the latest update to the Eufy Clean app has shattered my positive perception, transforming what was once an essential tool into a frustrating, nearly unusable experience. #### A Dreadful Decline The Eufy Clean app was previously a seamless extension of the Robovac, providing real-time updates, easy controls, and an overall smooth user experience. However, the latest update has introduced a myriad of issues that have rendered the app almost unusable. Here's a detailed breakdown of the problems: 1. **Lagging Performance**: The app now operates at a snail's pace. Simple tasks like starting a cleaning session, viewing the map, or checking the battery status take an eternity. The lag is so severe that it's almost impossible to use the app without getting frustrated. 2. **Intrusive Advertisements**: The app is now riddled with ads, which is incredibly disappointing. I understand the need for monetization, but the frequency and obtrusiveness of these ads are unacceptable. They pop up at the most inconvenient times, interrupting tasks and further exacerbating the lagging issue. 3. **Broken Real-Time Tracking**: One of the most valuable features of the Eufy Clean app was the ability to track the Robovac's progress in real-time. This feature has been utterly ruined by the latest update. The tracking is now so delayed and inaccurate that it's impossible to tell where the Robovac is or what it's doing. This not only diminishes the app's usefulness but also defeats the purpose of having a smart vacuum. 4. **Poor User Interface**: The app's new interface is a cluttered mess. Instead of streamlining the user experience, the update has made it more complicated and less intuitive. Navigating through the app feels like a chore, and important features are buried under layers of menus. 5. **Unreliable Connectivity**: The app frequently loses connection with the Robovac, forcing me to restart the app or the vacuum itself multiple times during a cleaning session. This is incredibly inconvenient and disrupts the cleaning process. #### A Fan's Frustration

X10 Vac/mop map

The map takes a minute to load. It used to show the x10 in real time but now the map lags. Also when vacuuming it also goes home to clean the mop🤪?

Ads are annoying

Formerly a clean, easily usable app. Now cluttered with ads and so much less enjoyable to use.

Great initially, problems since update

Loved the Eufy 10 robo vac, but ever since the update I’ve noticed so many issues. The maps are all messed up. I’ve remapped it several times and it’s still thinks it’s in my living room despite being in the office. It doesn’t clean well anymore and I replaced all the accessories and hardware. I find myself cleaning with my other vacuum after sending eufy to clean. Disappointed for the amount of money spent on this, I thought it would last longer and be consistent

Corrupts map weekly

suavemint on

United States

It’s almost impossible to reliably clean my home; a bedroom on the map loses its label and becomes un-label-able. Once this happens I cannot set a job with custom parameters, and “home” cleaning jobs fail to start. Deleting the device from my account and resetting it fully is the only way to fix this. Eufy support has been worse than useless on this issue.
