Description

From the world-renowned Monroe Institute, access profound states of expanded awareness normally attained after years of dedicated practice to foster greater meaning and purpose, relieve stress, improve sleep, and release unwanted patterns. The guided meditations in Expand feature Monroe Sound Science, our proprietary audio technology that uses targeted soundwave patterns to facilitate unique states of consciousness. Using Expand, you can access the profound wisdom and joy buried deep within your conscious and subconscious minds.
Expand features 100+ guided meditations, along with multi-day mini-courses, guided reflection and journaling, and custom-generated soundscapes that target specific brainwave states. Far from typical meditations that focus on simply clearing your mind of thoughts, Expand meditations encourage active imagination and perception to achieve specific results. Meditation topics include:
- Relaxation & Healing
- Joy & Meaning
- Insight and Intuition
- Sleep & Dreaming
- Nurturing Healthy Relationships
- Creativity & Manifestation
- Beyond the Physical
Expand was developed by the Monroe Institute, the world’s foremost center for the study and practice of expanded consciousness. Monroe is a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in the early 1970s as a research and educational organization. In addition to Expand, Monroe offers a wide variety of experiential retreats virtually, on our 300-acre Virginia campus, and in over a dozen countries worldwide.

Sounds are great BUT...

arktek12 on

Australia

The sounds are great. The meditations OK. But, you have to have an account with the Monroe Institute and you have to be connected to the Internet in order to listen to any of it. When I meditate I like to be disconnected from everything. This could potentially be a good app, but it’s difficult to relax knowing you’re still connected to the net.

Has potential but they’re greedy

Faerion on

You’re expected to pay $101 per year to listen to meditation music that you could find similar for free on YouTube. I would happily pay a one time fee of $10 because it’s a pleasant app that provides meditation music in digital format. But for all that money per year and you can’t even download those songs? No thanks. For $101 per year I would have at least expected songs that I can own and download. You can buy their music on their website for around $30 each digital song. Obviously they’re not marketing to help the poor, lol. Only the hippy rich.

Can’t access

Paid for the subscription - still can’t access anything but the free stuff - zero customer service and support

After update, I was logged out. I emailed the address listed on the contact us page on the Monroe Institute website. I received a response within a few hours with easy to follow directions for reinstating my subscription.

Locked out of my subscription

Nothappydisappointed on

Have been using this without issue since it first came out until last week. The update has locked me out and a call to the Institute got me a referral to support but I haven’t heard from them. I will make another attempt but am quite irritated that they haven’t fixed this by now.

Annoying

Sllomj on

Every time I open this app it says I don’t have premium even though I’ve had a subscription for months. Have to reopen it to get it to work.

Now requires cloud account

Curtis Forrester on

It seems that the app now requires creating a cloud account to use. I’ve been disappointed with the quality but requiring contact info seems a bit much.

Locked out of account

Jettquilts on

I’m locked out. They did some kind of update and canceled my prepaid account. I called their offices and was referred to a website that doesn’t work. Not at all happy. Before updating, I loved this app.

Technical Issues

Jambo Evans on

United States

Bought a sub, worked for 20 days, logged me out and when you log back on it doesnt recognize your subscription. There is not even a way to log out unless you delete app. Never got it to work again. So cancelled

Voices

cvondo on

United States

Excellent technology however most of the voices used for the guided meditations are not relaxing for meditation . Just because they are officers of n the organization does not justly using their voices . I would highly recommend this to my patients if you used professional meditative voices that are calming and use hypnotic inductions . Also eliminate negative words from the grammar. The voices and words should be soft , melodic , and calming vs harsh , sharp and abrupt . This has been mentioned by many others in the comments.
