A great application to accompany your elgato EyeTV device. Works really well and is great for watching live tv and seeing what shows you have scheduled to record! It would be better if you could use the app to control the tv on your PC/Mac, and be able to schedule recordings from the app itself!
I enjoy watching tv anywhere in my house using my iPad. But I can't rely on the app to work. When it does it's great! I have not been successful with 3G use. Maybe another upgrade ?
This is the only app that doesn't work tried and tried but says mac not working ipad not working iphone 3g and 4s want to plug the eyetv into ipad so sorry but was a waste of money
It is pretty good, works well on my home network, very easy to setup. Playback can have problems though, especially when you want to fast forward through stuff - it often stops playing and you have to reload the video and start again. You need to have a fast home network if you want it work well.
Works well on my iPad
I have this app and run EyeTV via a 2010 MacMini. It works well about half the time. Other times it constant gets stuttering either caused by the Mac app or by the phone. Sometimes closing and reopening EyeTV on the Mini fixes it. Other times I have to restart via multitasking on my phone.
If your modem supports "Back to my mac" then you are able to access your EyeTV from anywhere with your iPhone. If you don't have a modem that supports this, then you can only control it over your local network. Picture quality is good and spped isn't too bad. Just a little unstable at the moment with the odd crash or reset required. WHEN YOU FIRST INSTALL THE APP, YOU MUST RESTART BOTH YOUR IPHONE & YOUR MAC BEFORE IT WILL WORK PROPERLY!!
I bought this app and spent about an hour and a half trying to get it to work on my local network. After checking firewall settings many times and multiple restarts of both my computer and iPod I finally got it to work. The picture quality is great and navigation of my recordings library is a breeze. I really love how I can set a programme to record from my iPod.
Awesome app, I'm loving it.
i thought there would be a simple remote to conrtol the desktop app, the picture can be jumpy at times, its a good start but not worth the $ yet...
