Trying to activate the legacy app gets me in an infinite loop on my iPhone 11 iOS 17. It redirects me to version 7 and then via the information screen and App Store back to the legacy app which is still locked by this stupid pop-up screen. Legacy app works fine on my iPhone 14 pro iOS 16.
This is an absolute garbage
Payed a lot for this app, to become a subscription based app within a year. Total ripoff. I only need it a 1 or 2 times a year for holidays, and dont want to think about subscriptions.
As others have said, ridiculous scam. I’ve paid for a ‘lifetime’ and paid for some ridiculous filters, just to support them. All gone. They go subscription scam to rake in the big bucks, which will not work obviously, and leave a crappie leftover app for the loyal customers. The crappie ‘legacy’ app doesn’t even work properly. The whole screen flickers and is unusable.
How sad this could be? The app itself suggests to film in flight mode, but at the same time it denies to work. Whenever I try to open the filmic legacy, a red screen with a white preloader appears and stucks. Whenever the app has the access to internet it grants me access. What a humbug! I do not even mention about the same old subscription failure and dynamic tone mapping fiasco! The new company milks the fame and success of the previous developers. Shame!
Dacht je een mooie app te hebben waar voor betaald is. Gaan ze over op een abbonement systeem. Nou bekijk het maar, ga ik niet doen. Succes verder maar ik ga hier niet in mee. Wil Eigenlijk wel me geld terug want heb eigenlijk voor niks betaald.
Very strange practice to loyal customers and a weird new business model w/o offering actual businesses to buy it. No VAT reg. so can’t deducted it and no premium support nor features to validate this price increase. Sad!
This is insane! I also had a lifetime license and now it’s worth nothing. We all have to use “legacy” software because of an update? Lifetime license is a life time license, without a time limit! As everyone else one star review for this app and I hope that lots of people see this and skip Filmic Pro too. Don’t “buy” the software because you don’t buy it! Filmora did exactly the same and I think or better, fear that more and more are going to do this. Money hungry with just giving a flashy new button that does the same as 4 versions before. Shame on you! I deleted Filmic Pro and I am not recommending it ever again. Same for the other Filmic products.
While I do understand that developers need to get payed and annual subscription seems to get more common these days, this is nonsense. Your former clients, like me, payee quite a lot for the app. And now we’re getting a crippled legacy app in return??!!!?? Shame on you!!! As soon as I find an app that supports my gimbal, I’m out. FOREVER!!!
I recently bought the filmic looks which are gone now that I’m forced to use this “legacy” version. This is no way to treat customers…
