Floatplane

Trying to not be too harsh, but the whole app seems quite underwhelming. Lack of PiP, lack of an iPad app, difficult to find interesting stuff from LTT given the number of videos posted (would love an option to sort them by number of views or better yet number of views recently, say a month)

The app is confusing to use, nothing is explained to the user and the layout and function is different enough from other platforms to warrant a quick explanation. The features of the app itself are very basic but it seems stable. The UI design is functional but not pretty, the app does not support any features you’d expect from a premium platform such as picture in picture, background play or downloads. There is no incentive to use the platform except for the fact that it is the only way to watch certain paywalled content. If it were on another platform I wouldn’t use floatplane. As for the LMG floatplane subscription, it isn’t good value for money as you get some lower effort videos and access to the youtube WAN streams, which is only used because L,L & D only read floatplane chat, otherwise everyone would use the more enjoyable and feature rich platform. The LMG subscription is also more expensive than other creators despite having many more times the subscribers. It’s not good value compared to other floatplane creators or spending that money on a different platform, however it’s the only way to see exclusive LMG content. I know floatplae is a small company, however it is still a business and without receiving a product that is as good as competitors, I’m disappointed that I have to pay more than if I were to go to competitors. It’s not quite what ‘less is more’ is supposed to mean. Expect a stable and acceptable but not premium experience from this app.

Whenever someone goes live or uploads a video, I never get a notification come through until after I’ve opened the app and it’s starting to get on my nerves because I’ve paid money to be able to watch these streams yet I’ve missed every single one due to your app not telling me about it. FIX IT

The app is clearly designed by people who don’t use iPhones, and appears to not be tested on an iPhone; latest issue is that the entire top bar is clipped under the status bar so you can’t click the back button. I’ve been away from wifi a few times and tried to listen to the wan show, only to run out of data shortly after. Really wish there was an option to lower stream bitrate or having an audio only option.

This app is rubbish use twitch instead total knock off. I am an active account but it won’t let me sign in on the main app do not fall for this giant heap of crap,

Fellow friends at floatplane, YES. LTT got hacked, we felt the lose and and the pain, we wanted to help and over 5k new users joined the FP community, now the servers are barely making it through 😂 it's not even loading 😭 pleaseeee fixxxx. All my support 🙏

Only reviewing the app. It’s so basic, doesn’t support even the simplest of features. I’m sure there are reasons and frustrations the team face in updating this app but from a purely customer standpoint; this app is weak and lags behind the competition in almost every way.

Please use the native video player! Because of the custom one you’ve made we don’t have Picture in Picture & Airplay support (which if you had tv/Apple TV apps it wouldn’t be so much of a problem) Stripping out your custom player and using the default player would make the usability of the app so much better! Sign In with Apple (or other third party auth providers) would also be nice and trivial to implement (with the exception of apple) to allow for a better registration/user experience.
