Great app false advertising in price

caitwilliamsu on

Canada

First off this is a great app I have a super hard time with rhythm and it’s helped with that HOWEVER I saw there was an advertisement for 1/2 299.99 cad for the yearly subscription (about 150 cad) for thought it would be worth it I play everyday and having flowkey help that However when I went to sign up it charged me for 299.99 for the year I thought I read the advertisement wrong so I double checked it said 22.49 a month or 269.99 (save 50%) for the year (these prices are in usd) translated to cad it’s about 29 a month or 299 for the year. I contacted flow key they said they never do promotions (that’s a lie I’ve seen multiple people get it for a discounted rate for the year online different socials) they then said it was Apple fault and there was nothing they could do I contacted Apple and they said it wasn’t apples fault that glow key was responsible for following through with the price advertised but they could override and refund it Long story short I put a request in for my money back but it will be 30 days for a full refund. This makes me so sad I was looking forward to this and was so excited. I have been photos for evidence as well. I wish flowkey follow through with the 50% off the yearly sub but it doesn’t sound like they will definitely cannot recommend this app hopefully there are better options out there

Good platform but disappointed in recent decisions

Overall, I am disappointed with the decision to charge users the same price for an application with fewer features while placing the full access at a much higher rate. Being previously subscribed to the already fairly expensive subscription, I was disheartened to find that many songs I once enjoyed are now blocked by a paywall, even though I am paying the same price as before. Had I known the impact of this new paywall would be so significant, I would have reconsidered repurchasing my subscription, now labeled as “basic access.” While I might have been willing to pay a bit more for full access, the substantial price increase has left me no choice but to explore other application options. The “basic access” now offers a limited selection of songs, and “full access” is unreasonably more expensive. My humble recommendation for customer retention: Keep the subscription system simple by charging a single price. If additional revenue is needed, simply increase the price of the subscription.

False advertising?

I signed up for the free trial and was immediately charged 50$ That’s not a free trial. I’ve cancelled it and am waiting for a refund. What a hassle

Love it

Good Way To Learn Piano

Two Dee on

Canada

I’m a beginner with the goal of being able to confidently play piano with both hands and read sheet music. Overall the app is quite good for my goals but has room for improvement, especially given the price. Likes -Good song variety, which is important for beginners. I’ve given up on piano in the past due to boring beginner songs. Here you can start with video game soundtracks/film soundtracks/pop songs which is a great way to motivate you to practice. -Allows you to isolate right and left hands to easily learn them separately before playing with both hands. -Each song has a video of someone else playing it so you can see they’re finger and hand positions to help you learn quickly. -Ability to playback songs at 50% or 75% speed. -Easily loop sections that you want to practice. -“Wait mode” listens to you play, and advances the “playhead” only if you play the correct notes. A nice way of learning the notes by ear/testing your ability to read the notation. Dislikes -No metronome! What a glaring oversight. It’s great to practice counting in your head but a built-in metronome would be invaluable, especially when learning to read new rhythms. -The function for looping sections behaves in an annoying way. If you loop a large section and get halfway through and make a mistake, if you pause and try to “rewind” a bar or two, once you hit okay it automatically jumps you back to the start. -Unclear pricing structure. Flow Key offers two types of subscriptions, “basic song access”(which they say unlocks classical and royalty-free songs) , and “full song access” (which they say unlocks full library of songs, including licensed songs) but they do not have a clear description or list of which songs you get with either option which forces you to pay for each option to see what the differences are. Conclusion: A good way to start playing piano without taking lessons, but has room for improvement.

Best app on all the earth on

Canada

Flowkey is not a bad way to learn piano but under half of the songs are only available through premium

So disappointed

CT_1998 on

Canada

I wavered on purchasing this for the last month and finally decided to go for it. 179.00 is very expensive but I thought it was a good app. 1. I purchased it and it billed me for the entire year and not monthly like it leads you to believe. 2. I go into the app and apparently this is not the highest level even though it’s called “premium”. To get full access to the songs I need to pay another 90 bucks for “full access”. 3. I figure that sucks but what can I do so I start looking at songs and pretty much everything popular that id like to learn is still locked. I def would like a refund. I feel so scammed.

It’s ok

But I deleted it after a day because I can’t afford a subscription. April 4, 2024. Don’t even try to subscribe me.

Great app for piano learner

Ha8292 on

Canada

I have a one year subscription. It helped me a lot in learning at my own pace. However, there are some errs that I really hope the app developer can solve. 1. The app can’t hear my electric piano well when I play multiple notes on wait mode. I have to hit it several times to move pass it. 2. The Bluetooth on my electric piano is connected with my iPad but unable to connect to the app. It’s really frustrating hopefully there some solutions to this
