FluffyChat is an open, nonprofit and cute Matrix messenger app. Actually it is the cutest Matrix messenger out there!
Imagine a world where everyone can choose the messenger they like and is still able to chat with all of their friends.
A world where there are no companies spying on you when you send selfies to friends and lovers.
And a world where apps are made for fluffyness and not for profit.

FluffyChat FAQ
Is FluffyChat free?
Yes, FluffyChat is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is FluffyChat legit?
🤔 The FluffyChat app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
I understand supporting ancient systems is difficult and has a small payoff, but you are appreciated. The app is faster than many ways to interface with my home projects and I use it via matrix interpreters on my server.
If you support an ancient OS I give you 5 stars for effort and am forgiving of any issues. That said - share to FluffyChat from photos etc. seems broken and calls are non-functional. I’ve had the occasional crash while using extra features (like share) — I think due to incomplete iOS 12.5.7 integration, which is fine.
An excellent Matrix client!
Love that it supports voice recordings, this is something I always wanted in Element. The developers are really nice people who will answer any questions you have about it. And most importantly it's free and open source. :)
The best Matrix app that I have used
FluffyChat is the most stable Matrix client I have used, it has all of the features like the others, and comes with a very clean and simple interface.
Broken
Recent update literally broke the app - the PIN is never submitted, making it impossible to open.
Unreliable, glitchy, crashes since latest update
I wasn't a huge fan of this app, I've yet to find a way to attach videos that doesn't require saving them as files first. On top of that there is a bug that shows notifications until you come out of the chat and go back in which is really annoying.
Since the latest update though, things have gotten much worse. The app has become extremely slow, I get error messages multiple times per day and the entire app then crashes. Now I am hearing notifications and I know I have messages, but they don't load unless I quit the app and reload, which lately takes forever.
Reporting bugs or submitting crash reports requires you to sign into git hub. I'm not going to do that.
Potential to be the definitive Matrix client on iOS
Fluffy is great from my experience. It is far less buggy than Element for iOS and it has a great style that meshes better with the iOS environment. However, there are a few features I would say need some work.
• I frequently swipe from the left side of the screen to go back (similar to Android functionality and is commonly used throughout iOS as well) but this feature is not present and always throws me off. I hate reaching into the top left corner to go back.
• The lack of read receipts is also a bit of a drawback. There is absolutely no way to see if a user has read your message.
• Group calls are (understandably) not present. This can be difficult to implement and I don’t rely on them, but still a feature Fluffy omits vs Element.
“Stories” and “todolists” are apparently features this app has prioritized over what I’ve mentioned; two things not even part of the Matrix spec as far as I know. I would say if the development focused more on the basics of a chat app as I have mentioned it could easily beat out the other clients on the platform.
Breaks and stays broken
Multimedia constantly breaks and remains broken for long periods of time. Voice recordings stopped working, now videos sent no longer play. This app does not play nice with iOS
Awesome
Hands down the best matrix client for iOS / iPadOS. The only problem I’ve seen is jumping doesn’t seem to work correctly for me. When it tries to jump to the last read message then it winds up at the bottom again. Otherwise an absolutely awesome client. Great if you’re using heisenbridge for irc.
Removed ability to send multiple photos
Sending multiple photos as well as font scaling are my main reasons to use this app. The most important one is now gone. Switching back to element over this.
1.14.4 crashes right away!
... Crashes after updating just now. Uninstalling, redownloading, and reinstalling didn't fix it. This was in my iPhone 12 mini's iOS v16.7.
