Fortelling - Writer Tools

I usually hate reviewing apps, most are filled with ads, crappy or useless. Foretelling has genuinely been one of the best tools for as a writer, and they don’t shove premium in your face like some other apps, it’s one of the only apps I’d pay for premium for. Thank you, for creating a good less cash grabbing app for aspiring writers like me, not being douchey about ads or your premium and just being the most genuine writing app out there.

This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for in a writing app. It lets you put in maps, characters, character GROUPS, what they're wearing, their personalities, timelines, SPECIES, items, languages, boards, notes, labels, dictionary, image gallery and probably more I haven't even seen yet. It can even give you weekly writing challenges to work on your skills. This is perfect, and laid out so nicely so my little brain doesn't get overwhelmed, I actually get excited when I open the app to develop my story and make everything look prettier!! Highly recommend for any writer or hobbyist. To the developers: If you ever added a Kofi/Patreon page or a support donation feature to the app I think more people might be more likely to give back to this app. Psychologically, I think the Pro looks like a bit of a daunting commitment (at least for me), but if there was a 'support' button I'd probably end up giving back the same amount anyway - just a suggestion :) Great job! Will be subscribing soon for sure.

Just a little thing that would improve it would be to add a cursor when you’re typing. How am I supposed to know where I’m typing?

Such a lovely little app, I was looking everywhere for an app that did exactly what I needed and stumbled across this one. Character section, world building, plot points etc. good job devs!

I’ve been using Fortelling on mobile for about a year now, possibly a bit longer, and the improvements the app has moved through are really impressive. I love the tag system, and specifically the character profiles have been valuable for me. The outline and event functions also really help for organization. I don’t have pro, but I still find the app to be entirely useful. While there are features of pro that have me considering it, I don’t feel restrained or like the app’s functionality is hobbled by not having pro. I only gave four stars because I really struggle with the pinboards on mobile. I’m not certain if it’s the interface or the functionality in general for mobile (on Apple anyway), but I just can’t seem to get anything to work besides simply placing an asset on the pinboard.

I use this app for a story I’m writing and helps me soooo much with remembering stuff like character development and even the smallest details like what a friend calls someone else. Totally recommend>:D

Why the whole thing when signing in? Is the app free?

I have been looking for an app that can help make characters and outlines. I don’t use it to write my two novels. I absolutely love the timeline and event feature. But the app is sorta dull. I mean I think the writing challenges are cool it’s just that I want to focus on my novels so I haven’t entered any. Maybe if there was some more customization for the app and you could share work it would make it more fun. I don’t know lol. But I love this app despite that and I’m going to definitely keep it. Get it if you need assistance with making plots or outlines!!! UPDATE: I entered a challenge! It was fun and everyone is so nice and welcoming. I use the challenges for practice. I love Fortelling!! 📖❤️
