Description

Pilfer from poets, bargain with bishops and serenade the local simpleton on your hapless quest for absolution. Four Last Things is a point-and-click adventure game made from Renaissance-era paintings.
It's kind of like if Monkey Island had been made in 16th century Flanders, by a time-travelling Monty Python fanboy...
***In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. God saw all that he had made, and it was good. Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
'Ooops,' said god, seeing he had created a fool. But before he was able to remedy his error, man spoke;
'No backsies!' he chirped, and scuttled off into the forest.***

Four Last Things Reviews

Great

Too short but the attention to detail and overall original ideas and humour make up for this

Enjoying it but…

This is the first time I have played this sort of game and took a while to fathom so maybe it’s me but every time I enter the fishing scene there is no dog at the door way. I have even looked at walkthroughs but can’t see where I might be going wrong. Any suggestions ?

Game issues

andythehood on

United Kingdom

I brought this game on the back of Joe Richardsons excellent ‘The procession of cavalry’ which I love by the way. The issue is when entering the screen / scene with the creepy lawyer i am unable to exit the room. This happens on both iPad and iPhone and the game comes to a crashing halt. I cant even see my character and there really isn’t much else to say. Sorry but if the game stops due to this…….. well don’t get the game!

Brilliant game

Loved the style and the art work. Had to use the walk through. Couldn't get any sound on my iphone, so one star off for these two things. Highly recommended though if you are into art and design plus point and click. Would def. buy a sequel. Maybe the pre Raphaelites ?

Visual wit

Lovely to have such a visually different game. It’s witty and silly and as I’m useless at gaming, I had to use a walkthrough to solve a few things. Gamers may breeze through, but I’d be surprised. To pull so many artworks into a storyline and create relevant tasks needs imagination and a cheeky sense of humour. Well done. Please do another one. Impressionism? Surrealism? Can’t wait.

Meh

Great graphics and great idea, but lasted about 55 minutes... not worth the money at all

Fresh Approach to Old Art

Wonderful approach to graphics and music with humorous dialogue and amusing quests. It only took me a few hours to complete, but as I loved the approach I’m not going to dock a star for that, especially as one can spend a lot of extra time just exploring the art used.

Utterly irrelevant joy!

Charming, made with love and made me chuckle. Short but has made my evening that little bit more joyful. Would love to see more from this creator!

Crashes instantly

I love the look of this game, but I can't even open it. It just crashes when I press "new game", so I haven't been able to play it. I went onto app support, but there doesn't seem to be a way of getting support. Any chance of a refund, do you reckon?

Great point n click, funny and compelling

Interesting use of renaissance art and classical/baroque music in a whimsical adventure game. Good use of simple and complex puzzles and some hilarious interactions. Recommend to all.
