Free42 is a re-implementation of the HP-42S calculator and the HP-82240 printer.
It is a complete rewrite, not using any HP code, and it does not require an HP-42S ROM image.
Free42 is an Open Source project. The executables and source code are released under the terms of the GNU General Public License, version 2.
All third-party code used in Free42 is either in the public domain, or licensed under terms compatible with GPLv2, or used with the authors' permission.

La meilleure émulation de la mythique 42S de HP

Tout est dans le titre... Et si vous souhaitez ce programme dans une vraie calculatrice « physique », allez faire un tour chez SwisssMicros !

Belle réussite transposée physiquement dans la DM42

Magnifique programme qui marche très bien sur iPhone et que j’utilise quand je n’ai pas ma DM42, qui reprend le travail de Thomas dans un écrin solide réalisé par deux suisses brillant avec Thomas : à découvrir aussi !!!

Un grand merci à Thomas pour son travail qui ressuscite la HP 42S sur Iphone dans toutes ses fonctionnalités. Génial!

Mise à jour a revoir

Depuis la dernière mise à jour, les skins ne sont plus affichés étirés sur tout l’écran. Résultat, avec un iPhone Xs Max, on est obligé d’avoir des calculatrices toutes riquiquis, pas du tout adaptées à la surface de l’écran. Yes, there is a skin that is adapted to the iPhone Xs but the new behavior of the application about the skins has the side effect that all the previous skins cannot be used anymore. Pleasd restore the previous behaviour

Calculette très réussie

Bravo pour cette calculette. Elle est devenue ma seule et unique calculette et je l’utilise tous les jours sur mon iPhone.

Best design but last update not good

Last update has modified the sensibility of the keys. Design better than others RPN calculators. Please optimize for iPhone5.

True reimplementation of the HP42s. This brings me back to the 80s (I owned an HP 33, 34, 41 as a student). 42free has become my favorite calculator on iPhone and iPad. Inverse Polish notation is definitely the best input system for me as an engineer. The project is still under active development, and retina graphics are now available. Handsome, both on iPhone and iPad. Thank you very much for this excellent app. Merci !

A True Genuine HP Scientific RPN calculator

Just Great . The true famous HP42S, popular and powerfull RPN scientific calculator with programming features always in our pocket for just free. A great and wonderfull job done by the author. I wish now my Iphone sreen to enlarge a bit as keys are not as convenient as my old HP41C but really this is the only thing that can be said against ;-) Wel Done and Congratulation
