This app would be amazing if you had the ability to see the weight you logged on each workout previously. For instance, I’m on week two of a program and if I want to see how much weight I did on week one, I have to close out of the day I’m on, go find that previous day and open it up just to figure that out. Kind of a pain in the butt.
Great content! Updates needed.
I’ve bought the content from swoleaf site as well as this app. Fantastic, no b.s. knowledge that have yielded awesome results. Except abs; just laugh at his hilarious commentary for that workout.
As others who have commented here, I am in technology and the developers need to clean up a few bugs. This app has awesome potential on the content alone, but squishing a few more bugs would make it even more awesomer. Yes, I said awesomer.
Thank you for giving the finger to a subscription model!
Movements GREAT! App HORRIBLE!
The time spent on researching effective movements really shows! The rep schemes on the other hand mind as well be as many reps as possible for 3-4 sets. With that said the app experience is horrible. Not really Ryan’s fault, he was swindled by the team at exercise.com, the app creators/developers. The app constantly quits when I’m working out and half the time my progress is lost. All of the notes are not visible in the app. I have to log in on a computer at the same time to see all of the notes. You can’t see your exercise history when you’re in a workout on the app, so you have no idea what you used before. Those are a few of the downfalls to the app software itself. I would rather be given an excel sheet and pdf than have to deal with this app. Again, not Ryan’s fault, it’s the developers.
Must have and a great app now that it is affordable!
Ryan truly cares about success. He backs his workouts with science and isn’t afraid to say he was wrong with some of his earlier assumptions as he continues to gain knowledge by breaking down everything related to the human body. He will kick your butt and you might feel like giving up but stick with it and you will see growth and gains. Don’t “B” out and finish his workouts! Plus, the dude struggles with age like us and is funny. Just have fun with the process and realize that humor is need when getting your butt kicked in the gym. I highly recommend his affordable but kicking workouts!
Thank you for ditching subscriptions!!
$20/month was a bit much but I love your $20 programs. Being able to buy them through the app and own them without a monthly cost is a great new feature. I would love to be able to port over previous programs I've purchased on the old platform. The app itself is great. Tracking workouts is easy and I'm honestly very impressed with the whole app. You obviously yelled at a dev team about all the things you hate about other apps and they delivered. Great job!
Add set feature not working
I’m overall pleased with the app. I just can’t get the add set button to work. Is this a known glitch?? It worked previously but I’m not sure when there was an update.
Needs a lot more work
Ryan this app isn’t ready to have your name on it.
Only reason I gave it even 3 stars is to support a bit.
I am a tech guy, seriously, I can’t get the green check marks to log a set past the second set and I am still not sure how I got the green check mark in the first place!
Sometimes the rest timer shows, sometimes it doesn’t.
Why no integration with Apple Watch for heart rate etc. It would be great to set rest based on heart rate recovery maybe?!?!
Want to love this but like buying the workout better for now.
Good programs, app needs work
Really enjoy the programs. Biggest issue is the app doesn’t record your weights week to week so can’t measure progress.
For $20/month that is expected functionality.
Video clips for each exercise!!
I’ve been following his YouTube channel for the past two years, love all the content, now this app just makes it easier to search for exercises and see exact form and execution!! His program works, especially for someone like myself (in my 40’s)
Like the app, but still has a ways to go
I really love the workouts. I’ve purchased every one of his plans, and have rotated them almost exclusively for almost 3 years now. And I’ve never seen better results.
With that being said, there’s some nice things with the app, but it still has a ways to go to be worth the $20/month in my opinion. His plans are $20 each, and you own them forever. Now I’m paying a subscription for something that still has some kinks to workout. I’m willing to pay it for a little while, but only to support someone I appreciate, not because of the usability.
The Good:
-easy to use
-workouts loaded without any input on my end
-Demo videos for each exercise are nice in case you want a form check is nice
The Lacking:
-As an Apple user, it doesn’t sync w/ anything…the fitness app, Apple Watch, etc
-Apple Watch is a big deal to me. I love running my entire workout on my watch, rather than having to carry my phone around exercise to exercise. Would be perfect if they could sync to watch similar to Gymaholic app
-Not a lot of tracking data
Anyways, overall, definitely not terrible. But he’s asking for $20/month and there are a thousand free or less expensive options out there offering more right now. Hopefully this is just the early stages and this gets better
