Glycemic Index & Load Tracker Reviews
Misleading
This app claims GI and GL I won’t use an app that gets a download by misrepresentation, relying on the download to incite a purchase. No GL without paying $20 - so no. My personal policy is not to do business with companies (or developers) that I can’t trust. That’s just me. There’s enough dishonesty and greed already Deleting now.
Update
Response from developers did not address my review except to confirm what I said. It appears to be a response to look like they responded.
Help
I’ve emailed the company with no response. I purchased this app for my wife who’s fighting cancer. However, it does not show that on her phone even though we have everything shared. Every app we’ve ever purchased, everyone in the family can use??? Also, this app does not show up under settings with every other app on my phone?? I need some assistance
Can’t put on my phone without repurchasing!
I bought this on my iPad, and when I opened it on my phone, it wanted me to pay again. Also, I find it has fewer foods than I am accustomed to on food lists.
Not impressed
I couldn’t even find chick peas to add as one of my meals. So they need to do better!!
Tricked into paying
I feel like I was duped. The app sounded perfect til I had to pay first before accessing. I signed up and paid and then entered the app. It was immediately clear that this was not as expected or promoted. There is no contact information and I cannot find a way to get a refund.
Great app!
One of the best apps I have used. All the functions work. There are a number of different ways to sort lists in addition to search. I especially like the ability to change portion size to get GL rather than just 100gm like most lists out there. Thank you for not making me purchase a monthly subscription! I purchased the premium to be able to use all the features, but it is usable in free version if all you need is GI number value and you can still see the color for GL indicating high, medium, or low.
Not free as advertised
Downloaded it from the website where it claims to be free. Tried to use it but they wanted $24.99. Do not download apps that aren’t transparent about costs and fees.
Can’t change measurement system
Can’t change from metric to imperial.
Cannot be trusted
I cannot believe I paid for this app. I’ve found so many errors that I cannot use it anymore because it cannot be trusted. If I relied on this it could truly harm my diabetic family member. Also way too much junk food listed while real foods are left out, but when the numbers are wrong anyway it doesn’t matter. EXAMPLE — potatoes rate very high but potato salad is ok and showing GI and GL as both low/green. Wrong! So disappointed and wasted $25.
Good for now
I like that it has glycemic load. Other apps claim to, but don't. I gladly paid for the ad free version. I'm hoping in the future the developer will add real portion sizes. A lot of foods default to 100 grams, but they're not foods that are sold in grams. I spend a lot of times looking up conversions and doing math. I think there's a lot of potential here, refining the portion sizes would make it a lot better.
