Published by: GoodSAM

Description

The GoodSAM Responder App is a professional deployment system used by Emergency Services around the world and the National Health Service in the UK.
GoodSAM provides a range of solutions connecting those with specific skill sets to those in need, for example:
- GoodSAM Cardiac: This system is used by ambulance services to alert those trained in resuscitation (e.g. off duty paramedics, nurses, doctors, police and fire staff) to those nearby who are likely to be in cardiac arrest. This system has saved many lives around the world.
- GoodSAM Volunteer Response: GoodSAM is a platform used by the NHS and 3rd sector organisation such as the Royal Voluntary Service and British Red Cross to deploy volunteers to those in need. At the current time this is coordinating the 750,000 NHS Volunteers to help those isolated in the Coronavirus crisis.
- GoodSAM Pro: This is a professional dispatch system for community first responders and the emergency services.

The App utilises the latest in location technology and has many advanced features including a built in “radio” (Buzz) function so you can communicate with surrounding colleagues.
The GoodSAM platform has saved hundreds of lives and helped many thousands of people around the world. If you can help your community, please download the App and register under your parent organisation (or get your parent organisation on board if they are not on!).

GoodSAM Responder Reviews

Would like alerts on Apple Watch

I’ve had this for a while, it can be a little clunky and the cardio version doesn’t always give enough information although that’s maybe down to the dispatching service. My main niggle is that I’d like to get alerts on my Apple Watch as I would see them faster that way. Please consider this when planning updates

Volunteers?

I am registered and able to undertake stewarding positions. I keep receiving emails saying there are vacancies and to sign up. When I look at Activities I’m told there are no vacancies on my area.

Great site to help those in need

App update needed

There needs to be an update regarding the style of the app it just looks plain and when responding the icons could be like a mini first aid badge.

Having been an EEAST Community First Responder for 10 years I’ve taken a less onerous but more specific role here on GoodSAM giving assistance when asked by EEAST EOC to attend cardiac arrest situations. My only niggle of the GoodSAM App is that there appears to be 15 other people associated with GoodSAM on the map of my immediate locality, none of whom are actual First Responders so will not come to assist me when asked / buzzed by me. I’m told they were registered with GoodSAM during COVID to deliver prescriptions, go shopping and otherwise assist anyone in need; so as they appears 24/7 how can I ask whether they are still active? And why do they appear on my local First Responder webpage? Otherwise a brilliant way to keep volunteering and helping save lives in my community. Thank you everyone, with regards from Clive

We live in a rural location, Goodsam goes off on a regular basis enabling us to attend very sick patients well before an ambulance arrives!

Is anyone there?

Is this app still functioning and being used? I haven’t seen any activity for a long time, there’s been no more talk of it during the resus training at my hospital, and the sister app for the public seems to have disappeared, which is very disappointing as I always told family and friends to download it. I’m unsure now whether to advise they download the “responder” app so they can at least see defib locations and potentially “buzz” a nearby responder. It’s a real shame that a lot of the functionality seems to have disappeared from these brilliant applications!

Tha app is very well designed. I will be using the app when on duty with the community first response car. I will continue to use the app when off duty as well. Can I ask what is the procedure if I get a call when in the car. Do I need to inform the response desk before taking the call ?

Thanks to this app I was able to respond to a 4 month old in cardiac arrest down my road near my house. I was able to get there before the ambulance did and render immediate aid. Highly recommend

Brilliant concept undermines by 3rd parties

The app is fantastic and it's great to see how it has evolved and increased functionality over the years. However its usefulness depends on organisations using it, specifically ambulance services for the cardiac arrest response element, and NHS trusts for the NHS Volunteer elements. My local ambulance service doesn't use it, so it's useless to about 7 million people in this respect. I've only ever received one NHS Volunteer request in three years. This isn't the app's fault but there's no point having a product with such great potential, and continuing to develop it, when the organisations it depends on to work aren't using it.
