Why are there all these video feeds?? Go back to being a simple job search app. We’re just here to fill out job applications or attend events. There’s no need to see Brittney’s a day in the life of a marketing intern or whatever…

I downloaded the app hoping to better connect with employers and recruiters on this site but it turned out to be a bunch of bots. My mailbox would get spammed with so called recruiters but as soon as I would reply back to them I would not hear a response back from them. This did not leave me with a good impression of the site.

The website is a good way for employers to reach out to students. There are a few issues with a lot of the employers on the app, like they often list the opportunity as paid to get more students to see the post even if they do not plan to pay. This could be easier to avoid if the app allowed you a way to report employers like this. On the mobile app I don’t think they give you an option to report and on the website it doesn’t let you submit the report. The website doesn’t allow you to send links to the employer as well, which is annoying because many of them are asking for online portfolio links and not files.

This app has a nice UI and is easy to use. The only things I could think of that would make it better is if it had a dark/night mode, and if there were a search bar in the ‘Saved’ tab.

Ever since I started using this app in 2022 when my college career center recommended it to me. Since the time I started using it I only get recruiters who want me to become a teacher. This is completely unrelated to my major and it’s super annoying. I wish they had more options for Marketing/Public Relations/Graphic Design

Lots of scams enabled by the Handshake platform + your institution. Lots of Ghost positions. Recruiters who mass spam jobs postings and do not reply to questions.

Why am I getting jobs outside of my filtered preferences? Why are so many of these job posting fake, expired, or you consistently have to go to third party websites to go through the arduous process of filling out all the information that you’ve taken all the time to fill out on Handshake?! What was the purpose of filling out all that information on Handshake if you have to go to third-party websites just to do it all over again this is so stupid! I think this is a great app for undergraduates or graduate students straight out with little to no professional experience but anyone looking with years of professional experience and multiple degrees…this is not for us. There’s a $35 charge for alumni to utilize Handshake…please don’t waste your money! If I could give 0 stars, I would! Will you please upgrade your application to stop allowing fake jobs, expired jobs, and scammers to post ridiculous videos. I thought this was a serious business networking job site application?!

He’s alright

I can’t rave about Handshake more. As a college student, Handshake has connected me to a myriad of internship opportunities, company professional development events, and recruiters. I love that it fosters a space where hiring teams and coordinators typically reach out first, so you can gage what your background qualifies you for.
