Use it with a ZOOM iQ series mic, which are designed to capture audio of the best quality with iOS devices, and record using the high-fidelity linear PCM and space-saving AAC formats. This app includes normalize and divide functions that can be used on recorded files. In addition, it has compressor, EQ and reverb effects. Moreover, you can directly upload your recordings from Handy Recorder to the iCloud and SoundCloud file-sharing site, allowing you to bring your creations to the world over the Internet.

Is HandyRecorder free?
Yes, HandyRecorder is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is HandyRecorder legit?
⚠️ The HandyRecorder app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
After I upgraded to the latest app, recording did not work. Only silence was recorded. No sound from the mics could be heard during playback.
I discovered this was because the mic gain was set to the lowest level. To fix this you need to set it to 0.0db or whatever value you prefer, or simply reset all settings in the app.
The new version looks much nicer than the old one that looked hopelessly outdated, but it still miss these important features:
- Recording AAC files with higher bitrate than 160 kbps. 192, 224, 256 and 320 kpbs should be possible, and all bitrates except the maximum 320 kbps should be VBR.
- Low bitrate recording using codecs like HE-AAC v1/2, xHE-AAC and Opus
- Ability to record in higher sample rate like 96 KHz and 24-bit. Other apps support this so it is possible
- More recording formats like Opus, Ogg, Dolby AC3, xHE-AAC, MP2, MP3
- Recording Apple Lossless or FLAC would be very nice
- Support iOS share extensions, so files can be directly shared to apps like Dropbox, OneDrive, Mega and social media apps like Messenger, Telegram, Skype, LINE and WhatsApp

Limited options
The app does what it basicly should - it records sound. But when the sound is recorded, you have very limited options to use the recordings. You can send files up to 25mb by email, or you can upload to SoundCloud. Thats it. No integation with DropBox, Google Disk or other services.
If you plan to use your recordings: Get another app for your recording.
