Calories, Claims, and Quips: A Reflective Ramble 🐢
According to the adverts I’ve seen on Instagram Turtle claims to be better than MyFitnessPal. Stating that the recommended calorie intake is lower. However, I found that the amount of calories I could consume was the same as on MyFitnessPal.
One issue I noticed is that exercise and steps do not adjust the total calorie allowance. I believe this should be accounted for, as increased activity on some days means you would need more calories.
On a positive note, I appreciate the evening reflection and gratitude practice features, along with the focus on one big achievement. The layout of the app is also well-designed and user-friendly.
However, I think there should be a free version that allows basic calorie tracking. Alternatively, introducing different pricing tiers could make the app more accessible and affordable.
In conclusion, while the app has several attractive features and a good layout, it falls short in terms of calorie management and affordability. With some adjustments, it could become a more competitive and user-friendly option.

What I’ve been waiting for !
The same as the review before mine, years of slimming world, weight watchers, bad food and good food. Synning avocados for goodness sake like they’re a bad food!? Turtle method is slow, and focuses on changing your mindset so there is no guilt, no starving yourself. Focus on steps, movement and water and whatever food you want (in moderation) and with no guilt. I found when I remove guilt I don’t feel the need to stuff my face. I’ve lost 5lb in 2 weeks but most importantly I feel in control of my eating for the first time in about 30 years. Thank you Turtle! The app is fab, easy to you and super helpful. Love the podcasts as well. Do the 14 day challenge you won’t be sorry.
Absolutely brilliant
This app is beyond brilliant, I can’t describe the peace of mind I’ve gained from this app and the podcasts. After a lifetime of weight and body issues this app has been a godsend, I’ve even stopped seeing a dietitian as this app is so much better.
Can’t use unless you pay
Initially downloaded as I liked how the layout looked and certain aspects seemed good, however I only needed to use it for tracking and not the ‘masterclass extras’ but it will not allow me off the subscription screen anytime I enter the app
Flexibility
I’ve loved the masterclass, it’s shown me that I can eat the food I love and still lose weight.
The daily podcasts have been great. I recommend this to everyone who is interested in improving their health and wellbeing.
Can’t get passed credential section
Trying to complete the credentials and I can’t get passed the last section keeps saying I am not authorised to do this action???
A new approach to weight loss
I’ve found the 14 day challenge really insightful- it really helped me to understand how weight loss really works and how I can get a better hold on things. The podcasts have been super helpful in adjusting my mindset. I’d highly recommend it!

Lifestyle change for good
I have specific fitness goals and have always believed I knew what I was eating and fuelling my body with. I used other fitness apps previously. Using the turtle method has helped me to lose weight despite even trying to. I have learned so much about my nutrition and am no longer scared to eat what I want AND step on the scale. This is really helping to relearn everything that diet culture has taught me
