HERE WeGo Maps & Navigation

Thanks for the feedback, I’ve managed to deal with the main issues I had with it. It still doesn’t feel as polished an app as the Google or Apple apps but the web UI is functionally better for multi stops, and I like the way this translates in the app. I’d like one of these apps to add “avoid cities” as an option too :)

Easy to use and not given enough credit for its sharp ‘at a glance’ onscreen guidance!! I’ve been using this app for years and it’s never let me down!! Gets me through the Leeds city centre roadworks 🚧 with up to date directions! So a big thumbs up 😊👍

BIG TIP ! It’s crazy but if you want to change audio settings, you may have to do this WHILE THE APP IS SPEAKING ! E.g. in Voice Options, tap “Play test sound” then - before it finishes speaking - make your change. E.g. Use the device button to set the sound level to zero. Now, tap on “Play test sound” and VERY quickly use the device button to raise the sound level to max. Repeating this can produce very loud spoken directions. (Only tested on iPhone and iPad) EDIT: Another thing, which I find super useful is that I can paste in decimal coordinates, copied from my various map apps. (Needs to be numerical basic format) EDIT: I made a mistake below. I can’t use Irish voice. I use Serena UK voice instead. EDIT: I’ve only just noticed that selecting bicycle mode shows a gradient chart. Nice one! An AirPod in one ear and I get cycling voice guidance with the screen off. I’ve been using this for years. It was reincarnated recently which caused a few hiccups but has steadily improved. I have a lovely Irish female voice (Moira) directing me and, because I’m a bit dozy, she says “LEFT LEFT” etc like you hear on the police videos! The app works really well for me, warns me of speed cameras and tells me if I am inadvertently exceeding the speed limit. I’m looking forward to it using Siri Shortcuts. I’ve no incentive to spend £££ updating my car’s built in satnav when I can get regular Here updates for free. Presently on an iPhone 13 mini and iPad Air Gen.5

Sends you down deadened streets streets with bollards and streets that have barriers on them it even tried to send me through somebody’s garden and through the house to get into the next estate! if you’re a delivery driver and unsure of the area it’s a no 😢

I really like this app. Driving around in very complex city road like Kuala Lumpur, London and others really does well than Waze. Traffic too seems to be more accurate and knowing that I can navigation without internet that’s kind of down memory lane with Tomtom / Garmin.. it’s point of interest too is multicolour to show different things. Voice is an issue if I want to make this as a default in my car navigator. Please improve your voice navigation please than using text to speech hence why 4*.

App is decent, but the latest version has downloads over mobile data disabled, so you can't download a map to use offline without first going somewhere with Wi-Fi. That's extremely poor. It used to be an option. Now Wi-Fi is mandated.

It was my ‘go to’ navigation aid for clarity but I’m having to give up as it has started giving the weirdest routes and always wants to send me the wrong way round roundabouts. I’m too old for such excitement!

No CarPlay support

I’ve been using the HERE mapping app since Nokia days. It was undoubtedly THE best mapping app, not so now. I used it within the past 3 weeks planning my daily routes on a motorcycle trip through France and Switzerland. Yesterday I went to use it and I can’t, it doesn’t function. A message appears along the lines of ‘Sorry somethings wrong, it’s our end and we’ll have it sorted quickly..’ I’ve deleted and reloaded the app three times today without luck. Seemingly it’s a non-functioning app now? I have a iPhone X if that makes any difference?

If the plan to the update was to make map downloads fail it worked wonders. Every time I tried to update I just got an error. After I deleted the maps and went to download them again it just says "Your download stopped. Try again" I really don't want to delete the app and reinstalled because that might fail as well.
